The mayor of Makati ( fil, Punong Lungsod ng Makati) is the head of the executive branch of Makati's government. The mayor holds office at the Makati City Hall. Like all local government heads in the Philippines, the mayor is elected via popular vote, and may not be elected for a fourth consecutive term (although the former mayor may return to office after an interval of one term). City Of Greater Manila
The City of Greater Manila, also known simply as Greater Manila and sometimes Greater Manila Area (GMA), was a chartered city which existed during the World War II era. It was governed by the Commonwealth of the Philippines and was dissolved by Japanese occupation forces. It served as a model for the present-day Metro Manila and the administrative functions of the Governor of Metro Manila, both established three decades later during the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos. Greater Manila was formed on January 1, 1942, by virtue of Executive Order No. 400 signed by President Manuel L. Quezon as an emergency measure. León Guinto
León Gawaran Guinto Sr. (June 28, 1886 – July 10, 1962) was a public servant in the Philippines from the Commonwealth period up to the post-war era, best remembered as the war-time Mayor of the City of Greater Manila in the Philippines. Early life Guinto was born to Juan P. Guinto and Pia Gawaran in the village of San Nicolas in Bacoor, Cavite province. Nemesio Isip Yabut (December 19, 1925–February 25, 1986) was a Filipino politician and businessman who served as Mayor of Makati from 1972 until his death in 1986. Early life and education Nemesio Yabut was born on December 19, 1925 in Makati (formerly a part of Rizal) to Fabian Yabut and Irene Isip. He was the fourth of five children. His father was a soldier.
