Fred Maynard
Charles Frederick Maynard (4 July 18799 September 1946), an Aboriginal Australian activist who advocated for land rights, citizenship and equal rights for Aboriginal Australian people. He is known for being the founder of the Australian Aboriginal Progressive Association (AAPA) in Sydney, New South Wales. Early life Fred Maynard was born on 4 July 1879, the third child of William Maynard, an English labourer, and Mary Maynard (née Phillips), an Aboriginal woman of Worimi and French descent. Mary Maynard died during childbirth in 1884, after which Fred and his brother Arthur were taken by a Protestant minister, who forced them to work long days, beat them, and housed them in a stable. However, during this time Maynard learned to read and the minister gave them access to his library. Ken Maynard (born Albury, New South Wales, Albury, New South Wales in 1928 died 29 September 1998 Gold Coast, Queensland, Gold Coast, Queensland) was an Australian cartoonist. Maynard had an older sister, Florence, and a younger brother, Thomas. Originally a police officer, Maynard got his break as a cartoonist in 1958 contributing his Ettamogah Pub cartoons to the ''Australasian Post''. They became a main feature of the magazine and his cartoons were run until its last edition. These cartoons were the inspiration for a chain of Ettamogah Pubs throughout Australia. There are Ettamogah Pubs in Sydney, Albury-Wodonga, and Cunderdin, Western Australia, Cunderdin. Maynard died on 29 September 1998 due to Hepatocellular carcinoma, liver cancer. Kenneth Olin Maynard (July 21, 1895 – March 23, 1973) was an American actor and producer. He was mostly active from the 1920s to the 1940s and considered one of the biggest Western stars in Hollywood. Maynard was also an occasional screenwriter and director. In 1960, he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contributions to the film industry. Kelvin Ruben Maynard (29 May 1987 – 18 September 2019) was a Surinamese professional footballer who played as a right defender. Career Born in Paramaribo, Suriname, Maynard made his professional debuts with FC Volendam, playing in four second division games in the 2006–07 season. Jay Maynard (born July 27, 1960) is an American computer programmer, system administrator and the volunteer project maintainer for Hercules, a free emulator of IBM mainframe hardware. He is known for his self-made electroluminescent costume based on the film ''Tron'', which resulted in his nickname Tron Guy. James Alexander Maynard (born 10 June 1987) is an English mathematician working in analytic number theory and in particular the theory of prime numbers. Horace Maynard (August 30, 1814 – May 3, 1882) was an American educator, attorney, politician and diplomat active primarily in the second half of the 19th century. Initially elected to the House of Representatives from Tennessee's 2nd Congressional District for the term commencing on March 4, 1857, Maynard, an ardent Union supporter and abolitionist, became one of the few Southern congressmen to maintain his seat in the House during the Civil War.
