Maybank Numismatic Museum
The Maybank Numismatic Museum is a museum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, that is run and owned by the Maybank. It holds one of the largest coin and money collections in Malaysia. The museum is housed in Maybank Tower at Jalan Tun Perak. In September 2012, the museum was closed to the public for renovations, and has subsequently been reopened. Maybank Tower (Kuala Lumpur)
Maybank Tower ( ms, Menara Maybank) is a skyscraper in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The tower is the headquarters of Maybank and houses the Maybank Numismatic Museum. History The construction of Maybank Tower commenced in 1984 on Court Hill, over the site of a colonial era Sessions Court building, and was completed in 1987. Before the construction of the Petronas Twin Towers in 1995, Maybank Tower was the tallest building in Kuala Lumpur as well as Malaysia, at , around half the height of Petronas Twin Towers. Plaza Rakyat LRT station is an elevated rapid transit station in central Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The station is on the common route of the and . RapidKL
Rapid KL (styled as ''rapidKL'') is a public transportation system owned by Prasarana Malaysia and operated by its subsidiaries Rapid Rail and Rapid Bus. With its coverage throughout Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley areas, it was followed by a federal government restructuring of public transport systems in Kuala Lumpur after the bankruptcy of STAR and PUTRA Light Rapid Transit operators, the precursors to the Ampang/Sri Petaling Lines and Kelana Jaya Line respectively. In 2003, it had inherited bus services and assets formerly operated and owned by Intrakota and Cityliner after being bailed out. Numismatics is the study or collection of currency, including coins, tokens, paper money, medals and related objects. Specialists, known as numismatists, are often characterized as students or collectors of coins, but the discipline also includes the broader study of money and other means of payment used to resolve debts and exchange goods. The earliest forms of money used by people are categorised by collectors as "Odd and Curious", but the use of other goods in barter exchange is excluded, even where used as a circulating currency (e.g., cigarettes or instant noodles in prison).
