Mauritius Ngupita
Mauritius Ngupita (born 13 December 2000) is a Namibian cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Namibia in the 2017–18 Sunfoil 3-Day Cup on 8 February 2018. Prior to his first-class debut, he was named in Namibia's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. In March 2019, he was named in Namibia's squad for the Africa Division 1 qualifier tournament for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. In June 2019, he was one of twenty-five cricketers to be named in Cricket Namibia's Elite Men's Squad ahead of the 2019–20 international season. In December 2019, he was one of three rookie players to be awarded a national contract with the Namibia cricket team. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup
The 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup was the seventh ICC Men's T20 World Cup tournament, with the matches played in the United Arab Emirates and Oman from 17 October to 14 November 2021. The West Indies were the defending champions, but were eventually eliminated in the Super 12 stage. Originally the event was scheduled to be held in Australia from 18 October to 15 November 2020, but in July 2020, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that this tournament had been postponed, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In August 2020, the ICC confirmed that India would host the 2021 tournament as planned, with Australia being named as the host for the succeeding 2022 tournament. Ugandan Cricket Team In Namibia In 2021–22
The Uganda cricket team toured Namibia in April 2022 to play three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches and two 50-over matches. The venue for all of the matches was the United Ground in Windhoek. The tour was a repeat of Uganda's visit in April 2021, when Namibia swept both the T20I series and the 50-over series. Ahead of the matches against Uganda, the Namibians hosted Ireland Wolves for a three-match Twenty20 series (winning 2–1) and a five-match List A 50-over series (drawn 2–2). List A cricket is a classification of the limited-overs (one-day) form of the sport of cricket, with games lasting up to eight hours. List A cricket includes One Day International (ODI) matches and various domestic competitions in which the number of overs in an innings per team ranges from forty to sixty, as well as some international matches involving nations who have not achieved official ODI status. The Ireland Wolves (formally Ireland A) is a national cricket team representing Ireland. It is the second tier of international Irish cricket, below the full Ireland national cricket team. Matches played by Ireland Wolves are not considered to be One-Day Internationals, instead receiving first-class and List A classification. Twenty20
Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Together with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. 2021 Namibia Tri-Nation Series
The 2021 Namibia Tri-Nation Series was the 8th round of the 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 cricket tournament that took place in Namibia in November and December 2021. It was a tri-nation series between Namibia, Oman and the United Arab Emirates cricket teams, with the matches played as One Day International (ODI) fixtures. The Uganda cricket team toured Namibia in April 2021 to play a three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series and two 50-over matches. All of the matches were played at the Wanderers Cricket Ground in Windhoek. Namibia won the first T20I match on 3 April by seven wickets, with captain Gerhard Erasmus leading the chase with 62 not out from just 36 balls.
