Mauricio Valiente
Mauricio Valiente Ots (born 1966) is a Spanish lawyer, activist and politician, member of United Left (Spain), United Left (IU) and the Communist Party of Spain (PCE). 3rd deputy Mayor of the Ayuntamiento of Madrid, Madrid City Council and councillor-president of the Chamartín (Madrid), Chamartín District since 2015, he was a member of the 9th Assembly of Madrid. Early life Born on 31 August 1966 in Chamartín (Madrid), Chamartín, Madrid. Active in the student movement and a member of the Communist Youth since 1985. he is a member of the Communist Party of Spain (PCE). He graduated in Law at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and obtained his PhD in the same area at the Charles III University of Madrid (UC3M). In his capacity as lawyer he specialised in the area of Asylum seeker, asylum seeking, immigration and human rights, and worked for several years at the ''Comisión Española de Ayuda al Refugiado'' (CEAR). Carlos Sánchez Mato (born 1970) is a Spanish politician and economist. A member of United Left and the Madrid City Council, he served as delegate of Economy and Finance in the city government board. Manuela Carmena Castrillo (; born in 1944) is a retired Spanish lawyer and judge who served as Mayor of Madrid from June 2015 to June 2019. She was a member of the General Council of the Judiciary. Biography Early life She was born on 9 February 1944 in Madrid, in the area near the Dehesa de la Villa. Both sides of her family had a background in small business: her father Carmelo (a native of Toledo) ran a shirt shop at the corner of Gran Vía and Chinchilla Street in central Madrid.
