Maude, New South Wales
Maude is a village on the north bank of the Murrumbidgee River in New South Wales, Australia. It is in between Hay and Balranald in Hay Shire. It is located 55 kilometres downstream from Hay and 25 kilometres upstream from the junction of the Lachlan River with the Murrumbidgee. At the 2006 census, Maude had a population of 161 people. Maude consists of a General Store, hotel, post office and caravan park. The town is surrounded by market gardens supplied with water from Maude Weir, a popular spot for anglers, looking for yellow belly, redfin and Murray cod. Maude, South Australia
Maude is a locality on the Goyder Highway in the Mid North region of South Australia. The locality of Maude occupies the entire Hundred of Maude from which it derives its name. The Hundred of Maude was renamed in 1918 after General Maude as part of the programme of alteration of "names of enemy origin". The Hundred of Maude had previously been the Hundred of Schomburgk, named in 1880 for Dr Richard Von Schomburgk, the second director of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. Maude includes the former town of Florieton. Florieton was named in 1882 for Florence Annie Price, the daughter-in-law of the Governor of South Australia, William Jervois. A school opened in 1890, but along with the rest of the town has long disappeared. Maude is predominantly saltbush grasslands used for pastoral farming, grazing of sheep or cattle. Mount Maude
Mount Maude is the 15th highest peak in Washington state. The peak is located in the Entiat Mountains, a subrange of the North Cascades. It is in the Glacier Peak Wilderness, at the headwaters of the Entiat River. The peak was given its name by Albert H. Sylvester in honor of Frederick Stanley Maude. The mountain from the south side consists of mostly talus with small rocky outcroppings, often compared with mountains in the Colorado Rockies. The northeast side is much different, with a steep rocky summit sheltering the small Entiat Glacier. Most climbers will climb Maude, Seven Fingered Jack, and sometimes Mount Fernow in the same trip. The Maude system is an implementation of rewriting logic. It is similar in its general approach to Joseph Goguen's OBJ3 implementation of equational logic, but based on rewriting logic rather than order-sorted equational logic, and with a heavy emphasis on powerful metaprogramming based on reflection.
