Matěj Majka
Matěj Majka (born 31 January 2000) is a Czech semi-professional footballer who plays for FK Baník Sokolov as a winger. He is a product of the Sparta Prague academy and was capped by the Czech Republic at youth level. Club career Sparta Prague A winger, Majka entered the Sparta Prague academy at age 14 and progressed sufficiently to be awarded the Vlastislav Mareček Award at the 2016 FAČR Grassroots Gala. He was an unused substitute for the first team on two occasions during the 2016–17 season and appeared for the U19 team in Sparta's 2016–17 and 2017–18 UEFA Youth League campaigns. Majka departed the Stadion Letná when his contract expired in June 2018. Sokolov, Czech Republic
Sokolov (, until 1948 Falknov nad Ohří; german: Falkenau an der Eger) is a town in the Karlovy Vary Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 22,000 inhabitants. Administrative parts Villages of Hrušková and Novina and area of former village of Vítkov are administrative parts of Sokolov. Etymology The meaning of the original German name ''Falkenau'' was "falcon's riparian forest", the original Czech name ''Falknov'' was created by transcription of the German name. According to legend, it was related to hobby of knight Sebastian, who is said to have been the founder of the town, of falconry. After the World War II, when it was customary to change names of German origin, the town was renamed Sokolov. 2017–18 UEFA Youth League
The 2017–18 UEFA Youth League was the fifth season of the UEFA Youth League, a European youth club football competition organised by UEFA. The Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) is an international organization dedicated to collecting statistics about association football. The foundation aims to build an exhaustive archive of football-related information from around the world. Czech First League
The Czech First League, known as the Fortuna liga for sponsorship reasons, is a Czech professional league for football clubs. At the top of the Czech football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Seasons typically run from August to May, most games are played on Saturdays and Sundays with few games played on Fridays. All Fortuna liga clubs qualify for the Czech Cup. Bohemian Football League (ČFL) ( cs, Česká fotbalová liga) is one of the third level football leagues of the Czech Republic (the other is the Moravian-Silesian Football League). In professional association football, a free transfer, also known as a Bosman transfer, involves a professional association football club releasing a player when the player's contract has expired or made available just before the end of the contract. The player can then go on to sign for any club offering a contract to them.
