Matvei Igonen (born 2 October 1996) is an Estonian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for the Estonia national team. Club career FCI Tallinn Igonen made his Meistriliiga debut on 16 March 2013, in a 1–1 draw against Flora. Lillestrøm On 5 January 2018, Igonen signed a three-year contract with Norwegian club Lillestrøm. Flora On 1 July 2019, Igonen joined Estonian club Flora on a half-year loan. In July 2020 he signed a permanent deal with Flora until the end of 2021. Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała On 23 December 2021, Igonen joined Polish second division club Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała on a deal until June 2023. Meistriliiga
Meistriliiga (, known as the A. Le Coq Premium Liiga for sponsorship reasons) is the highest division of the Estonian Football Association annual football (soccer), football championship. The league was founded in 1992, and was initially semi-professional with amateur clubs allowed to compete. With the help of solidarity mechanisms, the league is fully professional since the 2020 Meistriliiga, 2020 season. As in most countries with low temperatures in winter time, the season starts in March and ends in November. Meistriliiga consists of ten clubs, all teams play each other four times. After each season the bottom team is relegated and the second last team plays a two-legged play-off for a place in the Meistriliiga. In February 2013, A. The 2019 Meistriliiga (known as A. Le Coq Premium Liiga for sponsorship reasons) was the 29th season of the Meistriliiga, the top Estonian league for association football clubs. The season began on 8 March 2019 and concluded on 9 November 2019. Nõmme Kalju were the defending champions. Flora won their 12th Meistriliiga title. Teams Ten teams competed in the league, nine sides from the 2018 season and 2018 Esiliiga champions Maardu Linnameeskond. The 2012 season of the Esiliiga, the second level in the Estonian football system, is the twenty-third season in the league's history. The season officially began on 11 March 2012 and concluded on 4 November 2013. The previous league champions Tallinna Kalev were promoted to the Meistriliiga while Legion and Warrior were relegated to the II Liiga. For this season those three teams were replaced by Rakvere Tarvas from II liiga East/North division and Tartu SK 10 and Tammeka II from II liiga West/South division. Esiliiga
The Esiliiga is the second division in the Estonian football league system. The Esiliiga is ranked below the Meistriliiga and above the Esiliiga B. As in most countries with low temperatures in winter time, the season starts in March and ends in November. The league features several reserve teams of Meistriliiga clubs. According to the rules set by the Estonian Football Association, reserve teams are ineligible for promotion to the Meistriliiga, but can play in the Estonian Cup. Competition format During the season, the teams play each of the other four times, twice at home and twice away. This makes for a total of 36 games played each season. The teams gain three points for a win, one for a draw, and none for a defeat. Promotion and relegation between divisions is a central feature of the league. The 2016 Meistriliiga (known as A. Le Coq Premium Liiga for sponsorship reasons) was the 26th season of the Meistriliiga, the highest division of Estonian football system. The season began on 4 March 2016 and concluded on 5 November 2016. Infonet won the league on the last matchday of the season, finishing with 80 points. It was their first league title.
