Mattia Carpanese
Mattia Carpanese born (5 November 1985 in Padova, Italy) is a speedway rider who in 2007 rode in the UK for the Workington Comets who compete in the Premier League, and for the Birmingham Brummies in 2008. Carpanese finished runner-up in the Italian Championship in 2005. He was selected as a wild card for the 2006 and 2007 Italian Speedway Grand Prix. He quit the Comets after a string of injuries on 30 August 2007. On 20 April 2008 it was announced that Carpanese had been signed by Birmingham Brummies as a short term replacement for injured rider James Birkinshaw but was released after twenty eight days. Padova
Padua ( ; it, Padova ; vec, Pàdova) is a city and ''comune'' in Veneto, northern Italy. Padua is on the river Bacchiglione, west of Venice. It is the capital of the province of Padua. Individual Speedway Junior World Championship
The Speedway Under-21 World Championship is an annual speedway event held each year organized by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) since 1977. As of 2022, the title was awarded to the winner of the SGP2 category at the FIM Speedway World Championship. History Between 1977 and 1987 the Championship was the called Individual Speedway Junior European Championship (European Speedway Under 21 Championship), open only to European riders. In 1979, the Championship allowed riders from other continents to compete, but was renamed to the Speedway World Under 21 Championship in 1988. 2009 European Pairs Speedway Championship
The 2009 European Pairs Speedway Championship was the sixth edition of the UEM European Pairs Speedway Championship. The Final was held on 26 September 2009 in Miskolc, Hungary; it was second Final in Hungary, but first in Miskolc. The championship was won by Czech Republic pair and they beat Russia and the defending Champions Poland. Results In the Final will be the defending Champion Poland, Czech Republic (2nd place in 2008 Final), Russia (3rd place), host team Hungary (4th place) and Latvia (5th place). The European Pairs Speedway Championship is an annual speedway event held in different countries organized by the European Motorcycle Union (UEM) since 2004.
