Matthew Leander King
Major Matthew Leander King (May 20, 1878 – October 23, 1919) was an American engineer. Early life and marriage King was born in Panora, Iowa, the son of Anna Ross (née Caldwell) and John King.Original document read Panora Illinois. Searching for Panora, Illinois did not turn up any such town. There is a Panora, Iowa in Guthrie County, and a Peoria, Illinois, in Peoria County. Given the references in his obituary to other Iowa interests, it is more likely that it was Panora, Iowa He graduated from the Mechanical Engineering Department of Iowa State College in 1906. Major King was a charter member of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers, a member of the American Society of Testing Materials. He became a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers in 1912, and belonged to various aeronautical and officers' clubs. He married Lucy M. Henry Post Army Airfield is a military use airport located at Fort Sill in Comanche County, Oklahoma, United States. This military airport is owned by United States Army. Established as Post Field in 1917, it was one of thirty-two Air Service training camps established after the United States entry into World War I in April 1917. Overview Henry Post Army Airfield was the first home of all Army Aviation Training after World War II before moving to Fort Rucker, Alabama in 1954. It is a very historic airfield. Dexter Community House
Dexter Community House, also known as The Roundhouse, is a historic building located in Dexter, Iowa, United States. Several prominent members of the community were responsible for the fundraising and building of this community facility. It replaced an older facility that was used for revival meetings, social and entertainment functions. After $10,000 had been raised Major Matt King drew up the plans for the building, which was completed in 1917. It continues to be used for a variety of community functions, and for a time it was used as a high school gymnasium. The elliptical-shaped building is in diameter. Panora is a city in Guthrie County, Iowa. The population was 1,091 at the time of the 2020 United States Census, 2020 census. It is part of the Des Moines metropolitan area.
