Matthew Choate
Matthew Choate (born May 6, 1971) was a legislator in the Vermont Senate. He was elected in 2008. He was one of two senators in the Caledonia Vermont Senate District, 2002–2012. He resides in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. He is a Democrat. Biography Choate was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont May 6, 1971. He was the eldest son of Jonathan and Wanda Rexford Choate. He graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry in 1992 and a bachelor of science in nursing in 1997. Caledonia Vermont Senate District, 2002–2012
The Caledonia Senate District is one of 16 districts of the Vermont Senate. The current district plan is included in the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the United States Census, 2020, 2020 U.S. Census, which applies to legislatures elected in 2022, 2024, 2026, 2028, and 2030. The Caledonia district includes most of Caledonia County, Vermont, Caledonia County, and the Town of Newbury from Orange County, Vermont, Orange County. Caledonia County
Caledonia County is a county located in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Vermont. As of the 2020 census, the population was 30,233. Its shire town (county seat) is the town of St. Johnsbury. The county was created in 1792 and organized in 1796. It was given the Latin name for Scotland, in honor of the many settlers who claimed ancestry there. History The county shares the same pre-Columbian history with the Northeast Kingdom. Rogers' Rangers were forced to retreat through the county following their attack on Saint-Francis, Quebec in 1759. To confound their avenging pursuers, they had split up.
