Matt Heaton
Matt Heaton (born 9 February 1993) is a Canadian rugby union player who plays as a flanker for Rugby ATL in Major League Rugby (MLR). He also represents Canada playing for the Canadian national rugby union team internationally. He was included in the Canadian squad for the 2019 Rugby World Cup which was held in Japan for the first time and which was his first World Cup appearance. Heaton is a 2 time recipient of the Rugby Canada 15's Player of the year award. (2017 & 2019) Early life Heaton was born in Godmanchester, Quebec. He first played rugby at age 14 and represented his high school Chateauguay Valley Regional. He later attended John Abbot College. Heaton’s first club was Ormstown Saracens RFC. Godmanchester is a township municipality located in Le Haut-Saint-Laurent Regional County Municipality in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada. 2021 Major League Rugby Season
The 2021 Major League Rugby season was the fourth season of Major League Rugby, the professional rugby union competition sanctioned by USA Rugby. The regular season began on March 20, 2021. The 2020 Major League Rugby season was the third season of Major League Rugby, the professional rugby union competition sanctioned by USA Rugby. The regular season schedule was released on September 23, 2019, and the regular season itself began on February 8, 2020. Three teams made their debut in 2020: the New England Free Jacks, Old Glory DC, and Rugby ATL. The Seattle Seawolves were the defending champions, having won their second consecutive title in the previous year. Pool B of the 2019 Rugby World Cup began on 21 September 2019. The pool included title holders New Zealand and third-placed team from 2015 South Africa, while Italy also joined the pool after finishing third in their pool in 2015.
