2021 Major League Rugby Season
The 2021 Major League Rugby season was the fourth season of Major League Rugby, the professional rugby union competition sanctioned by USA Rugby. The regular season began on March 20, 2021. One team made their debut in 2021: the LA Giltinis. The season also marks the first team departure in the league's history, with the Colorado Raptors. MLR history was made when United States Rugby referee Kat Roche became the first woman in a lead officiating role in a match (Seattle Seawolves vs Houston SaberCats on July 15). The New Orleans Gold, stylized as NOLA Gold, is a professional rugby union team based in New Orleans. The team was founded in 2017 and competes in Major League Rugby. Since January 2020, French rugby power ASM Clermont Auvergne has owned a minority stake in the team. Paul Healy (rugby Union)
Paul Healy is an Australian rugby union coach who most recently served as the head coach of the Houston SaberCats of Major League Rugby (MLR). He has been involved in several international teams in multiple capacities including Uruguay, Chile, Brazil, and Germany. He also previously served as head coach for Ordizia RE of Spain's División de Honor and CSM București of Romania's SuperLiga. Aveva Stadium is a rugby union stadium in Houston, Texas, United States as part of Houston Sports Park and is the home of the Houston SaberCats of Major League Rugby. Bryce Campbell (born September 21, 1994) is an American rugby union player who currently plays for the Chicago Hounds of Major League Rugby (MLR). He also plays for the United States national rugby union team. Amateur career Campbell began playing rugby with the Royal Irish at Cathedral High School in Indianapolis. He studied business at Indiana University, and toured Australia with the College All-Americans in 2015. Samuel Richard Harris (born 30 January 1980) is a former New Zealand-born, Australian professional rugby footballer and previously head coach of the Austin Gilgronis of Major League Rugby (MLR). He is of New Zealand Maori descent. He played representative rugby league for City NSW and in the National Rugby League for the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles and Wests Tigers clubs. His usual position was in the second row. Toronto Arrows R.F.C. is a rugby union club based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, that plays in Major League Rugby.
