Matt Hawkins (racing Driver)
Matthew Hawkins (born January 12, 1988 – February 14, 2009) was an American professional racing driver. He had competed in the ARCA Re/Max Series for one season in 2008, but scored one win and four top-10 finishes. Prior to this, he had won the Snowflake 100 at Five Flags Speedway in 2006, and the Southern All-Star Super Late Model Series championship in 2005. Racing career Hawkins would start racing in go-karts when he was four years old before progressing to late models years later. In 2004, Hawkins would run in various late model series and events, including the All American 400 at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. In the following year, he would run the Southern All-Star Super Late Model Series, winning the championship in his only full-time year in the series. He would run the X-1R Pro Cup Series in both the South and National divisions in 2007, finishing ninth and sixth in points respectively. The Atlas 100 (formerly the Allen Crowe 100) is an ARCA Racing Series stock car race held annually on the Illinois State Fairgrounds Racetrack during the Illinois State Fair. Allen Crowe Born November 12, 1928, in Springfield, Illinois, Allen Crowe died in New Bremen, Ohio, on June 2, 1963, from injuries sustained in a Sprint Car race at New Bremen Speedway. Allen cut his teeth at the now-defunct Springfield Speedway. He started in Stock cars and moved up fast. He soon became a first class racer, winning the Missouri-Illinois stock car title. The Nashville ARCA 150 was an Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) race at Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tennessee, held in the spring from 2001 to 2007. For the first six years, the race was known as the ARCA RE/MAX PFG Lester 150. A second race, known as the Waste Management 200 and Toyota ARCA 150, was held in August from 2001 to 2008, after which the track was removed from the series schedule. The Herr's Snacks 200 is an ARCA Menards Series race held at Berlin Raceway. The race has been scheduled on either the ARCA Menards Series or ARCA Menards Series East schedules each year except for 2019 (and run each year except that year and 2020). History The ARCA Permatex SuperCar Series (now known as the ARCA Menards Series), ran its inaugural race at the track in 1986. It then was off the schedule for a dozen years.
