Pocono 200
The General Tire Delivers 200 is a annual ARCA Menards Series race held at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. The inaugural event was held on May 30, 1969, and was won by Bobby Watson. The track has been featured on the ARCA calendar annually since 1987. History ARCA ran at Pocono Raceway for the first time in 1969 on a paved oval, two years before the modern superspeedway was opened. The series would not return to the track until 1983, when it ran just one year, this time on the superspeedway. The series would take another hiatus at the track, not returning until 1987. That year, the race returned to the calendar, and has remained ever since. From 1988 to 2019, a second race was held at the track. The second race was removed for the 2020 season. ARCA Menards Series
The ARCA Menards Series is an American stock car series, the premier division of the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA). It is considered a minor, semi-professional league of stock car racing, used as a feeder series into the three national touring series of NASCAR, and hosts events at a variety of track types including superspeedways, road courses, and dirt tracks. The series has had a longstanding relationship with NASCAR, including using former NASCAR Cup Series cars, hosting events in the same race weekend such as Daytona Speedweeks, and naming an award after NASCAR founder Bill France, Sr. However, the series was not officially affiliated with NASCAR until its buyout on April 27, 2018. The series was known as the ARCA Permatex SuperCar Series from 1986 until 1991, the ARCA Hooters SuperCar Series from 1993 until 1995, and as the ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series from 1996 to 2000. Kerry Dale Earnhardt (born December 8, 1969) is a former NASCAR driver and the eldest son of seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Dale Earnhardt. Francis James Kimmel (born April 30, 1962) is an American former stock car racing driver. He competed primarily in the ARCA Racing Series, from 1990 through 2016. Kimmel is the most successful driver in ARCA history. He has won the ARCA championship ten times, including eight consecutive. He won the championship in 1998 and also won the 2000 through 2007 championships, and again in 2013. Kimmel is currently the general manager for KBR Development, which fields the No. 28 Chevrolet in the ARCA Series. Michael Samuel Wallace (born March 10, 1959) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He last competed part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 0 Chevrolet Camaro for JD Motorsports. Ben Hess (born December 20, 1964) is an American stock car racing driver. Now retired, he was a regular on the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) series in the early 1990s, and also competed in twelve NASCAR Winston Cup Series races between 1988 and 1995. Racing career A native of Wadsworth, Ohio, Hess began racing in 1982; in 1983, he sold a service station that he owned to raise money for his racing career.
