Matt Burke (American Football)
Matt Burke (born March 25, 1976) is an American football coach who is the defensive coordinator for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He was also previously the run game coordinator/defensive line coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, defensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins, the linebackers coach for the Detroit Lions and Cincinnati Bengals, an assistant with the Tennessee Titans, and a defensive line coach for the Arizona Cardinals. Playing career Burke played safety at Dartmouth and was part of an undefeated Ivy League championship team in 1996. Coaching career While with the Dolphins, Burke was promoted to defensive coordinator, from the linebackers coach on January 12, 2017, after Vance Joseph left to become the head coach of the Denver Broncos. Burke was not retained by the Dolphins after they hired Brian Flores as their new head coach in February 2019. Hudson, Massachusetts
Hudson is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States, with a total population of 20,092 as of the 2020 census. Before its incorporation as a town in 1866, Hudson was a neighborhood and unincorporated village of Marlborough, Massachusetts, and was known as Feltonville. From around 1850 until the last shoe factory burned down in 1968, Halprin 2001: p. 7 Hudson was a mill town specializing in the production of shoes and related products. Safety (American Football Position)
Safety is a position in gridiron football on the defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. While American (11-player) formations generally use two safeties, Canadian (12-player) formations generally have one safety and two defensive halfbacks, a position not used in the American game. As professional and college football have become more focused on the passing game, safeties have become more involved in covering the eligible pass receivers. DeMeco Ryans (; born July 28, 1984) is an American football coach and former linebacker who is the defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). Ryans played college football at the University of Alabama, where he was named a unanimous All-American. He was selected by the Houston Texans in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft where he was recognized as the Defensive Rookie of the Year. He was selected to two Pro Bowls before being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2012, where he spent four seasons before retiring. Brian Flores
Brian Francisco Flores (born February 24, 1981) is an American football coach who is the defensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He began his NFL career with the New England Patriots, where he served as an assistant coach from 2008 to 2018. Flores was New England's defensive playcaller during his final season coaching for the team, which concluded with a Super Bowl title in Super Bowl LIII. Following the Super Bowl victory, he served as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins from 2019 to 2021. Although unable to reach the playoffs, Flores helped lead Miami to consecutive winning seasons between 2020 and 2021, the franchise's first since 2003.
