Matinkylä ( Finnish) or Mattby ( Swedish) is an underground station of the western metro extension (Länsimetro) of the Helsinki Metro. It is located at the southern end of Iso Omena shopping centre. 3 December 2022, the extension from Matinkylä to Kivenlahti opened as part of the second phase of the Länsimetro. The station serves up to 30,000 people on weekdays. Matinkylä
Matinkylä (; sv, Mattby, ; both literally translated the "village of Matt/ Matti") is one of the major districts of Espoo, a city on the southern coast of Finland. Matinkylä sits between the Länsiväylä highway and the coast of the Gulf of Finland, between the areas of Haukilahti and Iivisniemi. The middle part of Matinkylä consists of high apartment buildings, whereas the southern part consists of terraced houses and shorter apartment buildings. There are also some detached houses and paired houses in the area. Iirislahti in eastern Matinkylä, as well as Nuottalahti, Nuottaniemi and Koukkuniemi in southern Matinkylä consist of smaller houses. Länsimetro
Länsimetro (English: Western Metro, Swedish: Västmetron) is an extension to the Helsinki Metro system in Finland. The grand opening for the long-awaited extension was held on 18 November 2017. Länsimetro extends the system's two lines, M1 and M2, from Central Helsinki to the neighbouring city of Espoo. The new stretch continues the lines from the existing Ruoholahti station via the island of Lauttasaari, the Aalto University Otaniemi campus and Tapiola, the terminus of line M2. Iso Omena (Finnish for "Big Apple") is a shopping centre in Matinkylä, Espoo, Finland, opened on September 24, 2001. Kivenlahti (Finnish language, Finnish) or Stensvik (Swedish language, Swedish) is an underground terminus station on the western metro extension (Länsimetro) of the Helsinki Metro in Finland. The entrance to the station is located to the south of Kivenlahdentie in the area between Merivirta and Kivenlahdenkatu. The buildings at the West Entrance are located along the Kivenlahdentie.
