Matija Špoljarić ( el, Ματίγια Σπόλιαριτς, born 2 April 1997) is a Cypriot professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Aris Limassol and the Cyprus national team. International He made his debut for Cyprus national football team on 21 March 2019, in a Euro 2020 qualifier against San Marino, as a 54th-minute substitute for Fotios Papoulis. Limassol (; el, Λεμεσός, Lemesós ; tr, Limasol or ) is a city on the southern coast of Cyprus and capital of the district with the same name. Milenko Špoljarić
Milenko Špoljarić (; born 24 January 1967) is a football manager and a former Cypriot international football midfielder. Club career Born in Belišće, SR Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia, Špoljarić played for Yugoslav First League clubs NK Osijek and OFK Beograd. He left in 1992 signing with Cypriot club Apollon Limassol where he will play 11 seasons all the way until 2003. Before retiring from professional playing he played one last season with AEP Paphos. With Apollon he scored 78 goals in 250 appearances. International career After playing several seasons in Cyprus, he made his debut for Cyprus in an October 1997 World Cup qualification match against Luxembourg and earned a total of 22 caps (1 unofficial), scoring 9 goals. The 2022–23 Cypriot First Division is the 84th season of the Cypriot top-level football league. Competition system 14 teams will participate in the 2022–23 First Division. It will be conducted in two phases. In the first phase, all teams will play each other twice, one at home and one away. The 2019–20 Cypriot First Division was the 81st season of the Cypriot top-level football league. On 15 May 2020, the rest of the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The title was withheld, and no teams were relegated, with the league expanded to 14 teams next season for a transitional year. Cypriot Super Cup
The Cypriot Super Cup is a Cypriot football trophy, contested in an annual match between the previous season's Cypriot First Division champions, and the Cypriot Cup winners. The match is contested at the beginning of the football season, and is usually played at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia. The most successful team in the competition are Omonia, who have won the trophy on 17 occasions. The current holders are Apollon Limassol, who defeated Omonia 2–0 in the 2022 match. History The first match was played in 1951, under the name Pakkos Shield (Greek: Ασπίδα Πάκκου). The trophy was not awarded to the winner of the match, but would instead be awarded to the overall most successful team in the competition, after 10 matches.
