Mathilde Willink
Mathilde Willink née Maria Theodora Mathilde de Doelder (7 July 1938, Terneuzen – 25 October 1977, Amsterdam) was an Amsterdam society figure and fashion icon, married to Dutch painter Carel Willink (1900–1983) from 1969 to 1977. She often wore Fong Leng's extravagant designs. The Willinks' eccentric relationship made them a staple in the Dutch gossip columns of the time. Four months after she divorced Carel, Mathilde was found dead in her bed. Terneuzen
Terneuzen () is a city and municipality in the southwestern Netherlands, in the province of Zeeland, in the middle of Zeelandic Flanders. Fong Leng
Carla Maria Fong Leng Tsang (Rotterdam, 13 August 1937) is a Chinese-Dutch fashion designer. Fong Leng started a fashion boutique in 1969 in the Drugstore at the Nieuwendijk in Amsterdam. In 1971 she moved to larger premises at the P.C. Hooftstraat and called it ''Studio Fong Leng''. She is mostly known for her extravagant cloak dresses. Fong Leng’s most notable client was Mathilde Willink, the divorced wife of the Dutch magic realist painter Carel Willink. Life and career Fong Leng was born in Rotterdam and had a Chinese father and Dutch mother. She went to the ''Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten'' (Academy for Applied Arts) at Rotterdam where she studied Photography. ''De Groene Amsterdammer'' is an independent Dutch weekly news magazine published in Amsterdam and distributed throughout the Netherlands. Tomas Ross (Den Bommel, 16 September 1944) is a Dutch writer who is famous for his historical criminal thrillers. He was born as Willem Pieter Hogendoorn in Den Bommel (Goeree-Overflakkee).
