TV One (New Zealand)
TVNZ 1 ( mi, Te Reo Tātaki Tahi) is the first national television channel owned and operated by the state-owned broadcaster Television New Zealand ( TVNZ). It is the oldest television broadcaster in New Zealand, starting out from 1960 as independent channels in the four main centres of Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, networking in 1969 to become NZBC TV (although the individual facilities retained their call signs into the 1970s). MasterChef New Zealand (series 2)
The second series of ''MasterChef New Zealand'' was filmed in September 2010 and started airing on 20 February 2011. It saw the induction of Josh Emett to the judging panel, replacing series 1 judge Ross Burden. Jax Hamilton and Nadia Lim competed in the grand finale, which was screened on 15 May 2011. It consisted of four challenges: a taste test, a pressure test, a mystery box challenge and an extreme dessert challenge, each worth a maximum of 20 points, except for the pressure test, which was worth a maximum of 40 points. Nadia became New Zealand's second MasterChef, beating Jax 88 points to 75. MasterChef New Zealand
''MasterChef New Zealand'' is a New Zealand competitive reality television cooking show based on the original British version of ''MasterChef''. The first episode aired on 3 February 2010 at 7:30pm on TV One. Throughout its history, the show has featured judges Ross Burden, Ray McVinnie, Simon Gault, Josh Emett, Al Brown and Mark Wallbank. The series is similar to the format of '' MasterChef Australia'', whereby contestants compete in weekly elimination challenges, both individually and in teams. The major difference is the number of episodes per week: the New Zealand series only had two episodes, in contrast to Australia's six. The first series was won by Brett McGregor, over runner-up Kelly Young, in the grand finale which was screened on 28 April 2010. Ross Burden
Ross Kelvin Burden (16 December 1968 – 17 July 2014) was a celebrity chef from New Zealand. His early career was as a model and he became a chef later in life inspired by the time spent cooking with his grandmother. Career Burden's professional television career began after he reached the final of the BBC series '' MasterChef'' 1993. He frequently appeared on '' Ready Steady Cook'' for at least eight years, filmed a healthy-eating video with Joan Collins, and made at least five series for '' Taste''. Burden published at least two books and wrote columns for two magazines. In May 2006, he appeared on '' The X Factor: Battle of the Stars'' along with fellow chefs Jean-Christophe Novelli, Aldo Zilli and Paul Rankin. Wānaka
Wānaka () is a popular ski and summer resort town in the Otago region of the South Island of New Zealand. At the southern end of Lake Wānaka, it is at the start of the Clutha River/Mata-Au and is the gateway to Mount Aspiring National Park.
