Massoudieh
Massoudieh ( ar, مسعودية) is a village in Akkar Governorate, Lebanon, inhabited by Alawites. History In 1838, Eli Smith noted the village as ''el-Mas'udiyeh'', located west of esh-Sheikh Mohammed. The inhabitants were Alawites.Robinson and Smith, 1841, vol 3, 2nd appendix, p184/ref> Population The inhabitants of Massoudieh are Alawites or Sunnis. A significant percentage of the village population have migrated to the capital city of Beirut. Also, a significant percentage of the town population have migrated overseas to countries such as Brazil, Argentina, United States of America, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Gulf Arab states and European Union ( UK and France). Migration figures are high to even suggest that every family in the village would at least have or know of one friend or relative that have migrated to another country. Governorates Of Lebanon
Lebanon is divided into nine governorates (''muhafazah''). Each governorate is headed by a governor (''muhafiz''): All of the governorates except for Beirut and Akkar are divided into districts, which are further subdivided into municipalities. The newest governorate is Keserwan-Jbeil, which was gazetted on 7 September 2017 but whose first governor, Pauline Deeb, was not appointed until 2020. Crocker & Brewster (1818–1876) was a leading publishing house in Boston, Massachusetts, during its 58-year existence. The business was located at today's 173–175 Washington Street for nearly half a century; in 1864 it moved to the adjoining building, where it remained until the firm's dissolution.
