Massimo Rotundo
Massimo Rotundo (born 11 April 1955) is an Italian comics artist. Biography After attending the Academy of Fine Arts in his native city, Rome, Rotundo made his debut as comics artist in 1978 in collaboration with Eura Editoriale. Later he worked for other publications, like ''L'Eternauta'', ''Comic Art'', ''Orient Express'', '' Heavy Metal'' and ''Ècho des Savanes''. In particular, Rotundo stands out for his erotic comics, with the series ''Ex Libris Eroticis'', which recalls the tradition of illustrated erotic literature from the early 1900s. His growing reputation in the erotic comics genre led him to work in the French market as well, where he is well known and appreciated. Milena Canonero
Milena Canonero, Dame Grand Cross (born 13 July 1949) is an Italian costume designer, who has worked for both film and stage productions. She has won four Academy Awards for Best Costume Design, and been nominated for the award a total of nine times. She is married to actor Marshall Bell. Career Born in Turin, Italy, Canonero studied art, design history and costume design in Genoa. She then moved to England, where she began working in small theatre and film productions. While designing for commercials in London, she met many film directors. Her first major film work as a costume designer was in Stanley Kubrick's ''A Clockwork Orange'' (1971), having met Kubrick on the set of '' 2001: A Space Odyssey'' (1968). She worked with Kubrick again on ''Barry Lyndon'' (1975), for which she won her first Oscar with Ulla-Britt Söderlund, and '' The Shining'' (1980). Lucca Comics & Games is an annual Comic book convention, comic book and gaming convention in Lucca, Italy, traditionally held at the end of October, in conjunction with All Saints' Day. It is the largest comics festival in Europe, and the second biggest in the world after the Comiket. History The Salone Internazionale del Comics ("International Congress of Comics") was launched by a Franco-Italian partnership, consisting of Italians Rinaldo Traini and Romano Calisi and Frenchman (forming the International Congress of Cartoonists and Animators) in 1965 in Bordighera. In 1966, it moved to a small piazza in the center of Lucca, and grew in size and importance over the years. Funding issues reduced the frequency of the festival to every two years, beginning in 1977.
