m:A Fog (born November 27, 1979, in Turin, Italy as Massimo Altomare) is a heavy metal musician. Biography and formation of Black Flame m:A Fog is primarily recognized as the drummer of the black metal band Black Flame. Black Flame were the first band to be signed by Forces of Satan Records in 2006, the label run by Infernus, guitarist of the Norwegian Black Metal band Gorgoroth. m:A Fog is also known for being a popular session drummer, often recording albums and doing concerts outside his primary band. Although he is not believed to be a principal songwriter, his influence can be heard on every record he has participated on. He is known for being a powerful and "straight forward" drummer, choosing not to use a big range of patterns, but choosing instead to play in the most direct way possible. Ivar Skontorp Peersen, best known by his stage name Ivar Bjørnson (born 27 November 1977 in Etne), is a Norwegian composer/guitarist for the progressive black/viking metal band Enslaved. Biography Bjørnson is, along with Grutle Kjellson, one of only two founding members left in the current line-up of Enslaved, being only 13 years old at the time of the band's formation in 1991. Bjørnson and Grutle Kjellson performed in a death metal band called Phobia in 1989. The two decided that they wanted to form a new band in a more black metal style, and after discovering their shared fascination with Norse mythology, this set the groundwork for Enslaved. Janvs is a progressive black metal band from Genova, Italy. The band take their name from the Roman god Janus. They're known for using a Latin style of spelling in their band name and song/album names by replacing the letter "U" with the letter "V" (hence how Janus is spelled Janvs instead). History Janvs began in 2004 with Matteo Barelli on vocals/guitar, Claudio Fogliato on bass, and Francesco La Rosa on drums. Immortal (band)
Immortal is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen. The group was founded in 1991 by frontman and guitarist Abbath Doom Occulta (Olve Eikemo) and guitarist Demonaz Doom Occulta (Harald Nævdal). The pair worked with various drummers (including Grim, Armagedda and Hellhammer), and were later joined by former drummer Horgh (Reidar Horghagen) in 1996. In March 2015, long-serving member Abbath announced his departure from the group following a dispute with the other members of the band, and he went on to form a new band under his name called Abbath. Darkthrone is a Norwegian extreme metal band from Kolbotn, Akershus. Formed in 1986 as a death metal band named Black Death, in 1991 Darkthrone embraced a black metal style influenced by Bathory and Celtic Frost and became one of the leading bands in the Norwegian black metal scene. Ted Skjellum (born 4 March 1972), also known by the stage name Nocturno Culto, is a Norwegian musician best known as the vocalist, lead guitarist, and partial bassist (shared with Fenriz) of the influential black metal band Darkthrone. He has been with the band since 1988. He is also the vocalist of the band Sarke, and has a solo project called Gift of Gods. Wardruna
Wardruna is a Norwegian music group formed in 2003 by Einar Selvik along with Gaahl and Lindy Fay Hella. They are dedicated to creating musical renditions of Norse cultural and esoteric traditions, and make significant use of Nordic historical and traditional instruments including deer-hide frame drums, flutes, kraviklyra, tagelharpe, mouth harp, goat horn, and lur. Non-traditional instruments and other sources of sound like trees, rocks, water, and torches are also used. Kristian Eivind Espedal (born 7 August 1975), better known by his stage name Gaahl, is a Norwegian vocalist and painter. He is best known as the former frontman of Norwegian black metal band Gorgoroth. He is also the founder and lead vocalist of Trelldom and Gaahlskagg. Myrkskog is a death metal band formed in 1993 from Drammen, Norway. History Their music consists of high speed double-bass with rapid blastbeats and fills. Guitars are made up of harmonic tremolo picking and sometimes power chords with fast solos composed by Destructhor who, along with Secthdamon, were members in Zyklon. Their debut album ''Deathmachine'' is a hybrid of black metal and death metal. Their second album ''Superior Massacre'' is much more death metal-oriented with more prominent bass-lines and less tremolo picked riffs.
