Mason Finley
Mason Finley (born October 7, 1990), is an American shot putter and discus thrower. He was on the track and field team at the University of Kansas before transferring to the University of Wyoming. He qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics in discus. Early life Finley was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended Buena Vista High School (where he also played basketball and football) in Buena Vista, Colorado, and then the University of Kansas, before transferring to the University of Wyoming. For his high school dominance, Finley was named to the ''ESPN RISE'' 2000s All-Decade High School Track & Field Team. He was also ''Track and Field News'' "High School Athlete of the Year" in 2009. Career Finley set a Colorado high school record in discus with a throw of during the High Altitude Challenge in Alamosa, Colorado. The men's discus throw at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics will be held at the Olympic Stadium on . Summary The first throw of the final was a personal best by American Mason Finley, 67.07 metres. It only held the lead for two throwers until Andrius Gudžius threw 67.52 metres. Those held up through the round. At the start of the second round, Finley added almost another metre to his personal best, throwing 68.03 metres. The next thrower, world leader Daniel Ståhl went better throwing 69.19 metres. The next thrower was Gudžius, who edged two centimetres further with a 69.21 metres. DyeStat
DyeStat was a website self-described as "The Internet Home of High School Track & Field". It was founded in 1998 by John Dye, and featured his wife (Donna Dye) as the features editor, senior editor Steve Underwood, assistant editor Dave Devine, two California co-editors (Rich Gonzalez, Doug Speck) and one business/marketing manager (Kirsten Leetch). The site listed many of the best times for both Cross Country and Track & Field on the high school level, while also covering most state and national championships. It was often used as a source for ranking and other statistics by journalists. DyeStat also featured forums for athletes to discuss running. ESPN acquired DyeStat in 2008, but later shut it down when it got rid of its high school division in 2012.
