Al-Islah Mosque ( ms, Masjid Al Islah) is a mosque built in 2015 at Punggol, Singapore. The mosque features modern Islamic architecture. Masjid Al Islah is located within the densely populated Punggol New Town at 30 Punggol Field, Singapore 828812, at the junction of Punggol Place. The mosque serves the Muslim community in Punggol. On peak periods such as the Friday prayer and Ramadan night prayers, the mosques serves 4,500 worshippers on the 4 levels of the mosque. Before Masjid Al Islah was built in 2015, the last mosque in Punggol was the Wak Sumang Mosque which was located near Punggol Point. Unique Features Being the 69th mosque built in Singapore, Masjid Al Islah has improved facilities than other mosques in Singapore. Some parts of Masjid Al Islah is opened 24 hours and it does not have any fence unlike other older mosques. Punggol, alternatively spelled as Ponggol, is a Planning Areas of Singapore, planning area and New towns of Singapore, new town situated on the Tanjong Punggol peninsula in the North-East Region, Singapore, North-East Region of Singapore. The town directly borders Sengkang to the south and shares riverine boundaries with the planning area of Seletar to the west and Pasir Ris to the east. Punggol Point
Punggol Point Park, formerly known as Punggol Point, is located in Punggol, north-east of Singapore. History Punggol Beach was one of the sites where Chinese civilians were killed during the Sook Ching Massacre. The location has now been declared as a national heritage site. There is a plaque commemorating the Sook Ching Massacre. The inscription on the plaque reads: The remains of some victims from the Sook Ching massacre would later be discovered by beach goers and fishermen. In 13 March 1977, a human skull and some bones was brought to light when a man dug a hole in the sand around the area. In December 1997, a man digging for earthworms as bait found a skull with two gold teeth as well as parts of an arm and a leg near the shore. Punggol MRT/LRT Station
Punggol MRT/LRT station is a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT) interchange station in Punggol, Singapore. It is an interchange station between the North East line (NEL) and Punggol LRT (PGLRT), and the only MRT station located within Punggol planning area. Stretching across Punggol Central, the station is situated next to Punggol Temporary Bus Interchange and the retail development of Waterway Point. The station was completed on 20 June 2003 alongside the other NEL stations. It is the northernmost terminus on the North East line until the expected completion of Punggol Coast station in 2024.
