Masis FC ( hy, Մասիս Ֆորտբոլային Ակումբ), was an Armenian football club based in the town of Masis, Ararat Province. They played their home games at the Masis City Stadium. History On 7 June 2019, Masis FC was officially founded in by Artur Voskanyan. The club represents the town of Masis. In its first year of foundation, Masis applied to take part in the Armenian First League. Masis, Armenia
Masis ( hy, Մասիս) is a town and urban municipal community in the Ararat Province of Armenia, located on the left bank of the Hrazdan River, 9 km southwest of Yerevan towards Mount Ararat. The town has a large railroad commodity station that serves Yerevan, and used to connect the capital city with the Nakhichevan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic until the closing of the border with Azerbaijan. Masis is one of the closest settlements to Mount Ararat and Little Ararat. The mountains are visible from most of the areas in the town. As of the 2011 census, the population of the town was 20,215. As per the 2016 official estimate, the town has a population of 18,500. Etymology Masis ( hy, Մասիս) is the Armenian name for the peak of Mount Ararat.Thomson, p. 90-98. The 2019–20 Armenian First League season was the 28th since its establishment. The season was launched on August 6, 2019, and concluded on May 27, 2020. Sevan are the defending champions. Summary A total of 17 clubs entered the competition with only 11 clubs being eligible for promotion, while the other 6 teams are the reserve teams of clubs from the Armenian Premier League. Ararat Province
Ararat ( hy, Արարատ, ), is a province ('' marz'') of Armenia. Its capital and largest city is the town of Artashat. The province is named after the biblical Mount Ararat. It is bordered by Turkey from the west and Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic from the south. The VBET Armenian Cup ( hy, Հայաստանի Անկախության Գավաթ) is the main football cup competition of Armenia. In its original form as the Armenian Cup, it started in 1939, when Armenia was a republic of the Soviet Union. 2019–20 Armenian Cup
The 2019–20 Armenian Cup was the 29th edition of the football competition between clubs in Armenia. FC Noah won the Cup for the first time. The tournament began on 6 September 2019 and ended on 10 July 2020. Alashkert were the defending cup champions after defeating Lori the previous season by a score of 1–0.
