The Alexandra Sports Club (also called the Alex Sports Club) is a sporting complex in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe. The venue's primary use is as a cricket ground, and it has hosted both international and domestic fixtures. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Mashonaland
Mashonaland is a region in northern Zimbabwe. Logan Cup
The Logan Cup is the premier domestic first-class cricket competition in Zimbabwe. It is named after James Douglas Logan. History The first recorded cricket match in what was known at the time as Rhodesia was played in August 1890 near Fort Victoria. Within the next ten years, matches were played with more regularity and the most significant match was between teams representing Salisbury and Bulawayo. In 1903, James Douglas Logan presented Rhodesia's cricket teams with a cup to compete for, which was named the Logan Cup after him. At first-class level, Rhodesia entered a team in the South African Currie Cup in 1904–05, and then for most South African seasons from 1929–30 until 1978–79. The 1993–94 Logan Cup was the first competing of the Logan Cup as a first-class cricket competition. It was held in Zimbabwe from 14 January – 20 March 1994. Grant Flower
Grant William Flower (born 20 December 1970) is a Zimbabwean cricket coach and former cricketer. He is the current batting coach of Sri Lanka cricket team and Sussex. He is rated among the best Zimbabwean cricketers in history for his consistent left arm spin and fine batting skills. He was a fitness fanatic who spends hours in the gym, and was also regarded as a brilliant fielder who was usually seen in the gully. Darlington Matambanadzo
Darlington Rutendo Matambanadzo (born 13 April 1976) is a former Zimbabwean first-class cricketer who is the twin brother of Test cricketer Everton Matambanadzo. Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, Matambanadzo started playing for Harare Club side Old Hararians. He attended Eaglesvale School. Matambanadzo debuted for Zimbabwe U/19s in July 1993 and made a development tour to South Africa before making his first-class debut aged 17 years, 276 days on 14 January 1994 at Queens Sports Club for Mashonaland Under 24s against Matabeleland, taking one wicket for 24 and none for 10 and remaining unbeaten on zero. The 1994–95 Logan Cup, known as the Lonrho Logan Cup for sponsorship reasons, was a first-class cricket competition held in Zimbabwe from 16 September 1994 – 26 March 1995. Craig Wishart
Craig Brian Wishart (born 9 January 1974) is a former Zimbabwean cricketer, who played Tests and ODIs for 10 years.
