María Flora Yáñez
María Flora Yáñez Bianchi (September 1898 – 7 April 1982) was a Chilean writer who worked in the novel and short story genres, for which she received the University of Concepción's Atenea Award in 1947 and the Santiago Municipal Literature Award in 1952. Biography María Flora Yáñez's father was Eliodoro Yáñez, the Chilean politician and founder of ''La Nación''. Her children were also writers, Alfonso Echevarría (1922–1969) and Mónica Echeverría (1920-2020). Her literary work is part of the trend in women's literature of her time, "which is ascribed to the autobiographical and personal form," among which are the works of Marta Brunet (1901), María Luisa Bombal (1910) and (1911). She is included in a group of students assigned to the "Subjectivist School" present not only in Chilean women's literature, but also in the women's contemporary novel. The women's liberation movement (WLM) was a political alignment of women and feminism, feminist intellectualism. It emerged in the late 1960s and continued till the 1980s, primarily in the industrialized nations of the Western world, which resulted in great change (political, intellectual, cultural) throughout the world. The WLM branch of radical feminism, based in contemporary philosophy, comprised women of racially and culturally diverse backgrounds who proposed that economic, psychological, and social freedom were necessary for women to progress from being second-class citizens in their societies. María Luisa Bombal
María Luisa Bombal Anthes (; Viña del Mar, 8 June 1910 – 6 May 1980) was a Chilean novelist and poet. Her work incorporates erotic, surrealist, and feminist themes. She was a recipient of the Santiago Municipal Literature Award. Biography María Luisa was born in 1910 to Martín Bombal Videla and Blanca Anthes Precht. As a child, Bombal attended the Catholic girls school Colegio de los Sagrados Corazones in Santiago. After her father's death in 1919, Bombal went with her mother and sisters to live in Paris, where she finished her studies at the Lycée privé Sainte-Geneviève. Bombal enrolled at the University of Paris, where she studied literature and philosophy. She also attended the Lycée La Bruyère and the Sorbonne, where she began to write. After Bombal completed her university studies, she returned to Chile in 1931, where she reunited with her family. Bombal also studied violin with Jacques Thibaud and drama with Charles Dolan.
