Maryland Route 800 (MD 800) is a collection of state highways in the U.S. state of Maryland. The longest section of MD 800, officially MD 800D and known as Watson Lane, is signed and runs between two intersections with Maryland Route 75, MD 75 near the unincorporated area, unincorporated village of Linwood, Carroll County, Maryland, Linwood in western Carroll County, Maryland, Carroll County. The multiple segments of MD 800 are sections of old alignment of MD 75 between Union Bridge, Maryland, Union Bridge and New Windsor, Maryland, New Windsor. MD 75 was originally constructed through Linwood in the early 1920s. MD 800 sections were assigned after MD 75 was relocated through the area in the early 1960s. Maryland Route 75 (MD 75) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. Known for most of its length as Green Valley Road, the state highway runs from MD 355 near Hyattstown north to MD 31 in New Windsor. MD 75 serves as the main north–south highway of eastern Frederick County, where it connects Hyattstown with New Market, Libertytown, Johnsville, and the Carroll County town of Union Bridge. The first sections of MD 75 were constructed around New Windsor and between Green Valley and New London in the early 1910s. The latter highway was extended south to Green Valley in the late 1910s. New Windsor, Maryland
New Windsor is a town in Carroll County, Maryland, United States. The population was 1,398 at the 2020 census. It is located west of Westminster on Maryland Route 31. History New Windsor was platted in 1797 and originally named Sulphur Springs, for a local spring with water believed to have medicinal properties. It was given its current name in the early 19th century, possibly after its English namesake. The town was originally founded to service and profit from junctures of wagon trails in the area, but would later become a destination in and of itself because of the sulfur springs. To capitalize from the visitors to the springs, the town would become home to a bathhouse and numerous inns, including the 10,000+ square foot Dielman Inn. New Windsor became home to Calvert College in 1850, to later become the New Windsor College in 1872, and then finally a campus of Blue Ridge College in 1912 until 1937. Maryland Route 84 (MD 84) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. The state highway runs from MD 75 near New Windsor north to MD 832 near Frizzelburg. MD 84 provides access to Uniontown and forms part of the connection between New Windsor and Taneytown in western Carroll County. The state highway was constructed from New Windsor to Uniontown in the mid-1920s.
