Maryland Route 363
Maryland Route 363 (MD 363) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. Known for almost all of its length as Deal Island Road, the state highway runs from a dead end on Deal Island east to Mansion Avenue in Princess Anne. MD 363 connects Princess Anne and U.S. Route 13 (US 13) with the communities of Deal Island, Chance, and Dames Quarter on Tangier Sound in northwestern Somerset County. The state highway was constructed starting from Princess Anne around 1920, and reached Chance in the early 1930s. It was extended to Deal Island when a modern bridge to the island was constructed in 1940. MD 363 was extended to its present terminus on the island in the late 1950s. Maryland Route 675 (MD 675) is a collection of state highways in the U.S. state of Maryland. These two highways are sections of old alignment of U.S. Route 13 in Maryland, U.S. Route 13 (US 13) in Princess Anne, Maryland, Princess Anne in Somerset County, Maryland, Somerset County and Delmar, Maryland, Delmar in northern Wicomico County, Maryland, Wicomico County. Princess Anne Historic District
The Princess Anne Historic District is located in Princess Anne the county seat of Somerset County, Maryland on Maryland's Eastern Shore. There has been little change due to industry or other development, and the town retains much of its historic character since its founding in the early 18th century. It has been the governmental center since the county was formed in 1742 and the present courthouse is one of the most architecturally distinguished in the state. Within the historic district are a few pre-Revolutionary structures, a high concentration of Federal and Victorian architecture, vernacular dwellings as well as 19th and early-20th century commercial and public buildings. Ocean Highway
Ocean Highway was a designation established early in the 20th century for a combination of roadways and water-crossings for motor vehicles which would generally traverse as close as possible to the Atlantic Ocean along the East Coast of the United States from Jacksonville, Florida to North Brunswick, New Jersey. The Ocean Highway concept predated the creation of the Interstate Highway System beginning in the 1950s, and in many states the highways and byways of coastal routes from Florida to North Brunswick still carry the name. All Saints Church At Monie
All Saints Church at Monie is a historic Episcopal church located at Venton, Somerset County, Maryland. It is a single-story Carpenter Gothic-style building, five bays across by one room deep built in 1881. It is a well-preserved example of a small, rural Carpenter Gothic church taken from the designs of Richard Upjohn. Panther's Den, also known as Kolheim House, is a historic home located at Venton, Somerset County, Maryland, United States. It is a -story, Flemish bond brick house with a steeply pitched, wood-shingled gable roof. It was originally constructed in the second quarter of the 18th century, enlarged late in the 18th century, and remodeled on the interior between 1830 and 1850. Venton is an unincorporated community in Somerset County, Maryland, United States. It consists of a small number of farms and homesteads around Venton Road, and is the home of All Saints Church at Monie and Panther's Den, both of which are on the National Register of Historic Places. Geography Venton is a rural community with Maryland Route 363 (locally known as Deal Island Road) acting as the primary road throughout. The community is roughly at the halfway point between Princess Anne and Oriole, as well as a mile north of the Manokin River's mouth into the Chesapeake Bay. Maryland Route 627 (MD 627) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. Known as Oriole Road, the state highway runs from the intersection of Oriole Back Road and Crab Island Road in Oriole east to MD 363 near Venton. MD 627 was constructed and assigned in the mid-1930s. Route description MD 627 begins at the intersection of Crab Island Road and Oriole Back Road in the village of Oriole. Crab Island Road heads south toward the Manokin River, while Oriole Back Road heads northwest toward an intersection with MD 363 at Monie.
