Maryland's Congressional Districts
Maryland is divided into eight congressional districts, each represented by a member of the United States House of Representatives. After the 2020 census, the number of Maryland's seats remained unchanged, giving evidence of stable population growth relative to the United States at large. Maryland ( ) is a state in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. Takoma Park is a city in Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. It is a suburb of Washington, D.C., Washington, and part of the Washington metropolitan area. Founded in 1883 and incorporated in 1890, Takoma Park, informally called "Azalea City", is a Tree City USA and a nuclear-free zone. Jamin Ben Raskin (born December 13, 1962) is an American attorney and politician serving as the U.S. representative for Maryland's 8th congressional district since 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, he served in the Maryland State Senate from 2007 to 2016. The district previously included portions of Montgomery County, a suburban county northwest of Washington, D.C., and extends through rural Frederick County to the Pennsylvania border. Mechanicsville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in St. Mary's County, Maryland, United States.
