Mary Kolar
Mary Masters Kolar (born Mary Theresa Masters in 1958) is an American retired military officer and politician who is the Wisconsin Secretary of Veterans Affairs in the Administration of Governor Tony Evers. Background and education Secretary Kolar grew up in Wilton, Wisconsin. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, a Master's degree in Adult Education from the University of Rhode Island, and a Master's Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. Secretary Kolar served 28 years on active duty for the United States Navy from 1980 to 2008, retiring with the rank of captain. During her military career, she served in various command and staff positions across the nation, spending much of her time recruiting, training, educating and leading Sailors. Wisconsin Veterans Museum
The Wisconsin Veterans Museum, located on Capitol Square in Madison, Wisconsin, United States, is dedicated to telling the stories of the veterans of the state of Wisconsin. The museum is composed of two galleries that chronicle the history of Wisconsin citizens who served in the U.S. military from the American Civil War to present day. The Wisconsin Veterans Museum is an educational activity of the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs. Wisconsin State Senate
The Wisconsin Senate is the upper house of the Wisconsin State Legislature. Together with the larger Wisconsin State Assembly they constitute the legislative branch of the state of Wisconsin. The powers of the Wisconsin Senate are modeled after those of the U.S. Senate. The Wisconsin Constitution ties the size of the State Senate to that of the Assembly, by limiting its size to no less than 1/4, nor more than 1/3, of the size of the Assembly. The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs is a governmental agency of the U.S. state of Wisconsin that is responsible for veterans programs. The department is overseen by a secretary who is appointed by the governor after consulting with at least six Wisconsin veterans organizations.
