Mary Alice Vignola
Mary Alice Vignola (born February 11, 1998) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a defender for Angel City FC in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and the United States national team. Early life Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Vignola was adopted at birth. She is a biracial African American, and her adoptive parents are white. She has an older brother who is also adopted. Vignola began playing soccer recreationally when she was five years old. She played youth soccer for Ohio Elite, competing in the Elite Clubs National League as a forward. She also played high school soccer for St. Ursula Academy in Cincinnati, scoring 35 goals and being credited with 26 assists in her high school career. The 2022 Angel City FC season was the team's inaugural season as a professional women's soccer team. Angel City FC plays in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the top tier of women's soccer in the United States. Madison Guadalupe Hammond (born November 15, 1997) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a defender for Angel City FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Early life Madison Hammond was born in November 1997. Her mother was in the military, so although she grew up in Albuquerque, NM, she moved to Virginia when she was 9 years old. She joined a girls' soccer club near her mother's base when they moved to Virginia. Hammond's uncle was a big inspiration to her in athletics. He was a golf PGA Champion and played with Tiger Woods. The 2022 NWSL Expansion Draft (formerly named the 2021 NWSL Expansion Draft) was an expansion draft held by the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) on December 16, 2021, for two expansion teams, Angel City FC and San Diego Wave FC, to select players from existing teams in the league. Christen Annemarie Press (born December 29, 1988) is an American soccer player for Angel City FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and the United States national team. She first appeared for the United States national team during an international friendly against Scotland on February 9, 2013.
