Martin Zenke
Martin Zenke (born August 7, 1953, in Korbach) is a German biochemist, cell biologist, professor for cell biology and scientist, who is conducting research on stem cells and biomedical engineering. Biography Martin Zenke grew up in Korbach/Waldeck, Germany and finished school at :de:Alte Landesschule Korbach, Alte Landesschule in Korbach in 1972. He studied chemistry/biochemistry and medicine at Philipps-Universität Marburg, Philipps-University, Marburg/Lahn, Germany (1972-1978) and graduated in 1978 with a study on “The ribonucleotide reductase in synchronized cultures of Saccharomyces cerevisiae (baker’s yeast)”. Korbach (pronunciation: ˈkoːɐˌbax), officially the Hanseatic City of Korbach (German language, German: Hansestadt Korbach), is the district seat of Waldeck-Frankenberg in northern Hesse, Germany. Hartmut Beug (1945–2011) was a German cancer biologist who studied how groups of oncogenes interact to lead to the development and spread of cancer. Shortly before his death, a foundation was set up in his and his wife’s name to support collaboration among young scientists and their studies in the field of metastasis. Thomas Graf (biologist)
Thomas Graf (born 28 September 1944) is a biologist at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) in Barcelona, Spain. He is a pioneer in cell reprogramming, showing that blood cells can be transdifferentiated by transcription factors. He is also known for his early work on oncogenes carried by retroviruses and oncogene cooperation in leukemia formation. Pierre Chambon (born 7 February 1931 in Mulhouse, France) was the founder of the in Strasbourg, France.
