Martin Siewert
Martin Siewert (born 11 May 1972) is a German guitarist and film composer. Career Siewert has been living in Vienna since the age of 10. He studied guitar at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. As a guitarist, he started his public performances in 1995. In his early performances, he played with Herwig Gradischnig, Freier Fall, Franz Hautzinger, and his band Duckbilled Platypus. With this band, he recorded two albums for the label Extraplatte. He began to separated himself from the jazz idiom and developed an abstract sound on guitar. He became a member of Efzeg with Burkhard Stangl and Hauf and Komfort. He invited Dafeldecker, Hinteregger, Wayne Horvitz and Tony Buck to the group Komfort. In the group Trapist, he played with Joe Williamson and Martin Brandlmayr. Karlheinz Essl Junior
Karlheinz Essl (born 15 August 1960) is an Austrian composer, performer, sound artist, improviser, and composition teacher. Biography Essl was born in Vienna. His studies at the University of Music in Vienna included: composition (under Friedrich Cerha), electro-acoustic music (under Dieter Kaufmann) and double bass. At the University of Vienna he studied musicology (1989 doctoral thesis on ''Das Synthese-Denken bei Anton Webern''). Christian Wolfarth (1960 in Zurich) is a Swiss people, Swiss jazz percussion player. Biography Wolfarth moved to Bern in 1981, where he studied under Billy Lewis Brooks at Swiss Jazz School from 1982 to 1986. Christian Weber (double Bass Player)
Christian Weber (1972 in Zurich) is a Swiss double bass player. He is especially well known in the field of free improvisation and jazz. Life and works In 1990, Weber began playing double bass. After taking private lessons in Zurich, he moved to Graz in 1993 for studying at the academy of music and performing arts. Simultaneously, he started studying under Aderhard Roidinger at Anton Bruckner Private University for Music, Drama, and Dance. His education at this university lasted to 1998. His study was replaced by the classical lessons of the double bass player Ernst Weissensteiner. Sound Art
Sound art is an artistic activity in which sound is utilized as a primary medium or material. Like many genres of contemporary art, sound art may be interdisciplinary in nature, or be used in hybrid forms. According to Brandon LaBelle, sound art as a practice "harnesses, describes, analyzes, performs, and interrogates the condition of sound and the process by which it operates." A remix (or reorchestration) is a piece of media which has been altered or contorted from its original state by adding, removing, or changing pieces of the item. A song, piece of artwork, book, video, poem, or photograph can all be remixes. The only characteristic of a remix is that it appropriates and changes other materials to create something new. Michael Vatcher (born 1954) is an American jazz percussionist who lived in the Netherlands. Vatcher grew up in California and as a child played the vibraphone and snare drum. He worked for a long time with Michael Moore (saxophonist and clarinetist), Michael Moore, John Handy, and Terry Gibbs. In 1981 he moved to Amsterdam where he was active in many groups like Tristan Honsinger's ''Sextet,'' the Maarten Altena Ensemble, ''The Ex, Roof'' (with Phil Minton, Phil Milton, Tom Cora, and Luc Ex), ''Available Jelly'', and in a trio with Michiel Braam, Michiel Braaam and Wilbert de Joode.
