Martin Mejstřík
Martin Mejstřík (born 30 May 1962) is a Czech politician and human rights activist. Biography Mejstřík is notable for his role as a student leader during the Velvet Revolution that led to the ousting of the Communist regime in Czechoslovakia in November 1989. He served as a Senator in the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic from 2002 to 2008, representing Prague 1 as an independent, and was a member of the Senate Committee on Education, Science, Culture, Human Rights and Petitions. Mejstřík is a founding signatory of the Prague Declaration on European Conscience and Communism (and the co-organizer, with Jana Hybášková, of its preceding conference) and the Declaration on Crimes of Communism. Senate Of The Czech Republic
The Senate () is the upper house of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. The seat of the Senate is Wallenstein Palace in Prague. Structure The Senate has 81 members, chosen in single-seat constituencies through the two-round system. If no candidate receives a majority of votes in the first round, there is a second round between the two highest-placed candidates. The term of office for Senators is six years, and elections are Staggered elections, staggered so that a third of the seats are up for election every two years. A candidate for the Senate does not need to be on a political party's ticket (unlike in the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, Chamber of Deputies). Jana Hybášková
Jana Hybášková (born 26 June 1965 in Prague) is a Czechs, Czech politician and diplomat, who currently serves as the Ambassadors of the European Union, Ambassador of the European Union in Namibia. She served as a Member of the European Parliament for the SNK European Democrats (part of the European People's Party) from 2004 to 2009, and as the Ambassador of the European Union in Iraq from 2011 to 2015. She was the chair of the European Democratic Party (Czech Republic), European Democratic Party (EDS) from 2008 to 2010.
