Martin Leyer-Pritzkow
Martin Leyer-Pritzkow (born 2 January 1957 in Düsseldorf) is a German curator and writer about contemporary art. He lives and works in Düsseldorf, Germany. Life Martin Leyer-Pritzkow grew up the first years in Düsseldorf. Influenced by his grandfather, who has taken him to many exhibitions of classical modernism as a child, his interest in art developed. At grammar school in Düsseldorf-Gerresheim he received art lessons from Konrad Fischer (artist name: Konrad Lueg) and Gerhard Richter. In the year 1972 Leyer-Pritzkow changed school and graduated for high school in Bonn. After studying economics at the Universities of Regensburg and Cologne, he began his career in 1983 as a marketing manager at Diners Club International, in Germany. The is a public tertiary academy of art in Venice, Italy. History The Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia was founded on 24 September 1750; the statute dates from 1756. The first director was Giovanni Battista Piazzetta; Gianbattista Tiepolo became the first president after his return from Würzburg. The academy was at first housed in a room on the upper floor of the Fonteghetto della Farina, a flour warehouse and market on the Grand Canal, close to Piazza San Marco. The space was insufficient, and students and teachers had to contend with the noise and dust of the market, which also occupied the first floor of the building. Fritz Winter
Fritz Winter (22 September 1905 in Altenbögge (now part of Bönen) – 1 October 1976 in Herrsching) was a German painter of the postwar period best known for his abstract works in the Art Informel style. Life Like his father, Winter began electrical work in the coal mines at a young age. In 1925, however, his travels in Belgium and the Netherlands kindled his interest in drawing and painting, particularly the work of Vincent van Gogh. Within two years this affinity led to his admission to the Bauhaus, the state-sponsored Weimar school of art and applied design founded in 1919 by architect Walter Gropius. Emil Schumacher
Emil Schumacher (29 August 1912 in Hagen, Westfalen – 4 October 1999 in San José, Ibiza) was a German painter. He was an important representative of abstract expressionism in post-war Germany. Thyra Schmidt
Thyra Schmidt (1974) is a German visual artist. Life and work Schmidt studied fine arts from 1996 to 2000 at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hannover, under Peter Tuma, and in 1999/2000 at the Hiroshima City University, Faculty of Art, Japan. From 2000 to 2001 she studied under Dörte Eißfeldt at the Braunschweig University of Art, and from 2001 to 2005 under Thomas Ruff at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. She lives and works in Düsseldorf. Bernard Lokai
Bernard Lokai (born 5 September 1960) is a German painter. He studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and was a student of Gerhard Richter, and part of the Young Figuratives movement. He lives and works in Düsseldorf and Berlin, Germany. In 2002 he began teaching at the Freie Kunstakademie Essen in Essen in the Department of Painting and Graphics. André Lanskoy
André Lanskoy (31 March 1902 – 24 August 1976) was a Russian painter and printmaker who worked in France. He is associated with the School of Paris and Tachisme, an abstract painting movement that began during the 1940s. Biography He was born in Moscow. After 1905, the family moved to St. Petersburg, the capital in 1909. In 1918, he moved to Kiev where he painted his first paintings. During the Russian Civil War he fought in the White Army. After an injury he moved to Constantinople and in 1921, he went to Paris. Hendrik Krawen (born 1963 in Lübeck, Germany) is a contemporary visual artist and installation artist. Life and work From 1978 to 1981 Hendrik Krawen learned painting in the studio of the painter and graphic artist Rainer Erhard Teubert and 1980, architectural representation at a commercial artist in Lübeck. Tina Juretzek (born 25 November 1952 in Leipzig) is a German painter. She studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf with Günter Grote and lives and works in Düsseldorf. Biography Juretzek spent her first six years in Thale, Harz. Her mother was a sculptor, her father a merchant, her great-grandmother was an author, and her grandmother a painter. In 1958 the family escaped from the former East Germany (GDR) and moved to Essen. After her A levels in 1971 Juretzek took up her studies at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf with Günter Grote. Hans-Jörg Holubitschka (born 29 July 1960 in Seltzer, Westerwald - 16 December 2016 Düsseldorf) was a German painter. He studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Karl Otto Götz
Karl Otto Götz (22 February 1914 – 19 August 2017) often simply called K.O. Götz, was a German artist, filmmaker, draughtsman, printmaker, writer and professor of art at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. He was one of the oldest living and active artists older than 100 years of age and is best remembered for his explosive and complex abstract forms. His powerful, surrealist-inspired works earned him international recognition in exhibitions like ''documenta II'' in 1959. Götz never confined himself to one specific style or artistic field. He also explored generated abstract forms through television art. Götz is one of the most important members of the German Art Informel movement.
