Marta Xargay
Marta Xargay Casademont (born 20 December 1990) is a retired Spanish professional basketball player. She played for Phoenix Mercury of the Women's National Basketball Association, WNBA, and for several European teams in Czech Republic, Russia and Spain. She played for the Spain women's national basketball team from 2011 to 2020. She won EuroLeague Women 2010–11 with Perfumerías Avenida Baloncesto. She left Spain in 2015, joining both USK Praha of the Czech Women's Basketball League, Czech League in 2015 and the Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA on 11 February 2015. In September 2018 she signed for Dynamo Kursk of the Russian Women's Basketball Premier League, Russian Premier League., and in January 2020 she returned to her youth club Uni Girona CB. Liga Femenina 2 is the second division of the women's league of basketball in Spain. It was founded in 2001. Competition format Teams in this league are divided into two groups by geographical criteria. The top four teams of each one, qualify to the promotion playoffs. In these playoffs, the qualified teams are divided into two groups of four teams, where the two top teams qualify to the Finals. The two winners of the finals promote to Liga Femenina. Russian Women's Basketball Premier League
The Russian Women's Basketball Premier League is the premier women's basketball competition in Russia. The category consists of 11 teams playing a total of 20 rounds. At the end of the regular season the top eight teams play the play-offs throughout April, ending in a 5 matches final. UMMC Ekaterinburg is the most successful team in the championship with 15 titles, including a record 13-year winning streak. Defunct team CSKA Moscow, later relocated to Samara as VBM-SGAU Samara (9), Dynamo Moscow (4) and Spartak Moscow Region (2) follow in the palmares.
