The Marsa Sports Club is a sports ground in Marsa, Malta. Address: Sqaq ta' Ċeppuna, Marsa, MRS, Malta. History Marsa Sports Club was inaugurated by the British Armed Forces in 1902. The membership to Maltese people was highly restricted until 1971. The ground was originally known as the United Services Sports Club. The cricket stadium has a grass outfield and a matting wicket. It has hosted all matches for the three editions of the Valletta Cup. Valletta Cup
The Valletta Cup is a recurring Twenty20 International cricket tournament for associate members of the International Cricket Council in Europe. It is organised by the Malta Cricket Association, with the format being round-robin matches followed by a final; all matches are played at the Marsa Sports Club in Marsa, Malta. The first edition was held in 2019. 2019 The 2019 Valletta Cup was held between 17 and 20 October 2019. Four teams were involved: Malta, the Czech Republic, Iceland and a Hungary XI. Only matches played between Malta and the Czech Republic had official Twenty20 International (T20I) status. Malta National Cricket Team
The Malta national cricket team is the team that represents the Republic of Malta in international cricket. The team is organised by the Malta Cricket Association, which became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1998. and an associate member in 2017. A Maltese national team first played as early as 1891, when an XVIII of Malta played an English team on its way to a tour of Australia.
