Marquay McDaniel
Marquay McDaniel (born April 20, 1984) is a former professional Canadian football wide receiver. He played for 10 seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL), six with the Calgary Stampeders and four with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He was originally signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2007. McDaniel was named a CFL All-Star in 2013, and won a Grey Cup championship in 2014. He played college football for the Hampton Pirates. Professional career Hamilton Tiger-Cats In his rookie season McDaniel played in all 18 games and led the CFL with 2,535 all-purpose yards. He had 688 yards and three touchdowns on 57 receptions, 1,153 yards on 57 kickoff returns, 615 yards on 73 punt returns and 79 yards on five missed-field goal returns. 2013 CFL Season
The 2013 CFL season was the 60th season of modern-day Canadian football. Officially, it was the 56th season of the Canadian Football League. The pre-season began on June 12, 2013 and the regular season began on June 27, 2013. Regina, Saskatchewan hosted the 101st Grey Cup on November 24, with the Cup won by the Saskatchewan Roughriders. CFL news in 2013 Salary cap According to a new collective bargaining agreement, the 2013 salary cap was set at $4,400,000. As per the agreement, the cap is fixed and does not vary with league revenue performance. The minimum team salary was set at $4,000,000, with individual minimum salaries set at $45,000. 2016 Calgary Stampeders Season
The 2016 Calgary Stampeders season was the 59th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 82nd overall. The Stampeders finished in 1st place in the West Division and finished with a 15–2–1 record. The Stampeders qualified for the playoffs for the 12th straight year and advanced to the Grey Cup game where they lost to the Ottawa Redblacks. This season was Dave Dickenson's first year as head coach after John Hufnagel moved into a strict general manager role. In the early morning hours of September 25, 2016, Stampeders defensive back Mylan Hicks was shot and killed at a Calgary nightclub. Fellow defensive back and teammate Jamar Wall changed his jersey number from 29 to no. 31 for the rest of the season in honour of Hicks. The 2012 Calgary Stampeders season was the 55th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 74th overall. The Stampeders finished in 2nd place in the West Division with a 12–6 record. The Stampeders won the West Semi-Final over the Saskatchewan Roughriders by a score of 36–30, earning their first playoff victory over Saskatchewan since 1994. Saskatchewan Roughriders
The Saskatchewan Roughriders are a professional Canadian football team based in Regina, Saskatchewan. The Roughriders compete in the Canadian Football League (CFL) as a member club of the league's West Division. The Roughriders were founded in 1910 as the Regina Rugby Club. The 2011 Hamilton Tiger-Cats season was the 54th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 62nd overall. The Tiger-Cats finished 3rd place in the East Division with an 8–10 record. After hosting the East Semi-Final in 2009 and 2010 with no success, the Tiger-Cats had to go on the road for the 2011 playoffs since they finished 3rd in the East.
