Marley Caribu
, also known as and Marginal (in ''Astral Project''), was a Japanese manga writer. In 1986 he completed his first major works in collaboration with Akyo Makata in ''Ahomansu'' and ''Meisouou Boodaa''. Afterwards, Tsuchiya collaborated with draftsman Kaiji Kawaguchi ('' Zipang'', ''Spirit of The Sun'') for the title, ''Tokishozo Disturbs and Losses''. In 1992-1993 he collaborated with Jiro Taniguchi for the manga , and . He also collaborated with Takashi Imashiro for the manga ''Takopon''. He has collaborated with manga artist Nobuaki Minegishi for the manga '' Old Boy'', upon which Park Chan-wook's 2003 film '' Oldboy'' is based. Tsuchiya died on January 7, 2018. Old Boy (manga)
is a Japanese manga series written by Garon Tsuchiya and illustrated by Nobuaki Minegishi. The narrative follows the protagonist Shinichi Gotō, a man who, after a decade of incarceration in a private prison, is suddenly freed. After his release, Gotō must find his captors and discover the reason for his confinement. ''Old Boy'' was serialized in the Futabasha magazine ''Weekly Manga Action'' from 1996 to 1998, with a total of 79 chapters among eight collected volumes released during that time. The series was picked up for North American localization by Dark Horse Comics and released between 2006 and 2007. is a 1986 Japanese film. It stars Yūsaku Matsuda, who also directed it after the planned director Yonosuke Koike dropped out due to differences with Matsuda. It is based on a manga by Marley Caribu. Jiro Taniguchi
was a Japanese manga writer/artist. His works belong to the gekiga, or "dramatic pictures", genre of manga. In France he was knighted a Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2011.
