Markus Svensson
Markus "Mackan" Svensson (born July 9, 1984) is a Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender, currently an unrestricted free agent. He was most recently under contract with Färjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Playing career Svensson started his career in the youth ranks of Kalmar HC and moved to IK Oskarshamn in 2001, where he stayed for three years and made his debut in the HockeyAllsvenskan. After a two-year stint at Mariestad BoIS (2004 -2006), he returned to Oskarshamn and became a regular on the club’s HockeyAllsvenskan squad, before transferring to the Malmö Redhawks in 2008. After signing with AIK IF in 2011, he logged his first minutes in Sweden’s top-flight SHL and was temporarily loaned to IK Oskarshamn of the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan (Swe-1) during the 2011–12 season. Kalmar
Kalmar (, , ) is a city in the southeast of Sweden, situated by the Baltic Sea. It had 36,392 inhabitants in 2010 and is the seat of Kalmar Municipality. The IF Malmö Redhawks (colloquially referred to simply as Malmö or by past abbreviation MIF) is a Swedish professional ice hockey team based in Malmö which plays in the SHL, with Malmö Arena as the venue for home games. The history of the team dates back to 1947 as the ice hockey division of the now exclusively football club Malmö FF. In 1972 the team divested from Malmö FF, marking the start of the hockey association initially known as Malmö IF. The team name was changed to MIF Redhawks in 2001 and then to the present name IF Malmö Redhawks in 2004. 2015 IIHF World Championship
The 2015 IIHF World Championship was the 79th event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), held from 1–17 May 2015 in Prague and Ostrava, Czech Republic. It broke the historical attendance record of IIHF World Championships. Canada won their 25th title by defeating Russia 6–1 in the championship final game. Canada went undefeated at the tournament to win its first IIHF championship since 2007. With the win, Canadian captain Sidney Crosby became a member of the Triple Gold Club and the first to be the team captain for all three events. For winning all of its tournament games in regulation, the Canadian team earned the new Infront Team Jackpot award of one million Swiss francs.
