Markus Krunegård
Markus Krunegård (born 6 April 1979 in Norrköping, Östergötland, Sweden) is a Swedish-Finnish singer and songwriter. Career On 2 April 2008 he released his solo album 'Markusevangeliet', with the debut single "Jag är en vampyr" made it to the Top 5 on Sverigetopplistan. The same year he appeared on albums by Annika Norlin, Johnossi and Eldkvarn. He also toured with Lars Winnerbäck in summer of 2008 followed by an extensive solo tour. He was nominated for several awards including Rockbjörnen, Grammisgalan and P3 Guld. He followed by releases of ''Prinsen av Peking'' and ''Lev som en gris, dö som en hund'' in 2009. His album ''Mänsklig värme'' released on 28 March 2012 entered the Swedish Albums Chart straight at No. 1 making it his biggest success ever. Fireside (band)
Fireside is a Swedish, Grammis Award-winning rock band that formed in the Swedish hardcore scene in the early 1990s. After finding moderate success as a post-grunge/alternative metal band, yet tiring of playing half-filled venues, Fireside adopted an emo/pop punk sound in 1998. In 2000, with the release of ''Elite'', the band took a more experimental approach to rock, but 2003's ''All You Had'' saw the band shift toward garage rock. After a lengthy hiatus Fireside returned to playing live in 2016 and consequently a new album named ''Bin Juice'' was released in 2022. However, only singer/guitarist Kristofer Åström and guitarist/producer Pelle Gunnerfeldt appear on the record, joined by bassist and occasional vocalist Kate Breineder and several drummers. Way Out West (festival)
Way Out West is a three-day music festival held in Gothenburg, Sweden, during August that plays host to a variety of popular music artists mainly from the Rock music, rock, Electronic music, electronic and hip-hop genres. The main festival is complemented with the club concept Stay Out West which features after-hours gigs at various venues around the city. History The first festival was held in August 2007 in Slottsskogen on Friday and Saturday and at club venues on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. In 2012 the festival became a full-fledged three-day festival with live music in Slottsskogen even on Thursday. In addition to music, the festival has also grown to incorporate other cultural activities such as art exhibitions in Slottsskogen and film showings at cinemas around the city. Rockbjörnen (Swedish: ''the Rock Bear'') is a music prize in Sweden, divided into several categories, which is awarded annually by the newspaper ''Aftonbladet''. The prize was first awarded in 1979, and is mostly centered on pop and rock. In 2010, Rockbjörnen was redone and focused more on live performances. This initiative was hailed by artists and industry. The period for selecting the winners of Rockbjörnen was extended from one month to three months (all summer). Grammis
The Grammis are music awards presented annually to musicians and songwriters in Sweden. The oldest Swedish music awards, they were instituted as a local equivalent of the Grammy Awards given in the United States. The awards ceremony is generally held each year in February in Stockholm. The awards were established in 1969 and awarded until 1972 when they were cancelled, then revived in 1987. There are around 20 different award categories, which have changed over the years. Swedish artists and foreign artists who live in Sweden are eligible, as are artists in other countries if their music is produced in Sweden and targets a Swedish audience. Torne Valley
The Torne, also known as the Tornio ( fi, Tornionjoki, sv, Torne älv, , se, Duortneseatnu, fit, Tornionväylä), is a river in northern Sweden and Finland. For approximately half of its length, it defines the border between these two countries. In the upper parts, the river is situated in Sweden before it meets the Muonio River where it adjoins the international border. Shout Out Louds
Shout Out Louds is a Swedish indie pop band from Stockholm. History Formed in Stockholm by childhood friends Adam Olenius (vocals), Ted Malmros (bass), and Carl von Arbin (guitars), Shout Out Louds found an international audience during the early 2000s with their peppy Swedish pop. The lineup began taking shape in 2001, with drummer Eric Edman and keyboardist Bebban Stenborg climbing aboard shortly thereafter. Shout Out Louds wasted little time writing songs, the first three of which formed the basis of their first demo tape. The music caught the ear of Filip Wilén, owner of Sweden's Bud Fox Recordings, and he quickly signed the group to his label.
