Cornwall (; kw, Kernow ) is a historic county and ceremonial county in South West England. It is recognised as one of the Celtic nations, and is the homeland of the Cornish people. Jack Marks (ice Hockey)
John Joseph Marks (February 8, 1882 – August 19, 1945) was a Canadian professional ice hockey, Hockey player who played professional ice hockey from 1906 until 1920, including 2 seasons in the National Hockey League for the Montreal Wanderers, Toronto Arenas, Torontos and Quebec Bulldogs. He won 2 Stanley Cups with the Quebec Bulldogs in 1912 and 1913. He also won a third Stanley Cup with Toronto in 1918. He was born in Brantford, Ontario. Playing career Marks began intermediate level play for Belleville of the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) in 1899. He would play for Belleville for four seasons until 1904. He was suspended for a year in 1903 for playing professional baseball in 1902. When the Federal Amateur Hockey League (FAHL) started in 1904, he joined the Brockville team for two seasons. It was followed by her debut album, also titled ''Freeway Bound'', which was released on September 13, 2005. Michael Marks ( yi, מיכאל מארקס Polish: ''Michał Marks''; 1859? – 31 December 1907) was a businessman and entrepreneur, who with Thomas Spencer co-founded the British retail chain Marks & Spencer. Biography Marks was born into a Polish Ashkenazi Jewish family in Słonim, in what was then the multinational Russian Empire (now Grodno Region, Belarus). He emigrated to England around 1882 and moved to Leeds, where a company called Barran was known to employ Jewish immigrants. He married Hannah Cohen at the Great Synagogue on Belgrave Street, Leeds, in 1886. The year on his naturalisation papers say 1859, but his age on his marriage certificate suggests a later year, perhaps 1863 or 1864.Chislett, p. 8. Luba Marks (November 28, 1921 – July 5, 2020) was a Bulgarian-born French-American fashion designer of Russian descent specializing in sportswear from the 1950s to the 1980s. Prior to this, under the name Lubov Roudenko, she was a former soloist for the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo in the late 1930s and early 1940s, afterwards performing on Broadway throughout the 1940s. Early life Lubou Rodenko was born 28 November 1921 in Sofia, Bulgaria, to Russian parents. Her father, Nicholas, had been an officer in the Russian Imperial Guard, and following the Russian Revolution, he and his wife became refugees while the rest of their family were killed. They moved to Paris, where Nicholas Rodenko ran a Russian restaurant until it was forced to close following the 1932 assassination of President Paul Doumer by a Russian émigré. Leopold Samuel Marks, (24 September 1920 – 15 January 2001) was an English writer, screenwriter, and cryptographer. During the Second World War he headed the codes office supporting resistance agents in occupied Europe for the secret Special Operations Executive organisation. After the war, Marks became a playwright and screenwriter, writing scripts that frequently utilised his war-time cryptographic experiences. He wrote the script for ''Peeping Tom'', the controversial film directed by Michael Powell that had a disastrous effect on Powell's career, but was later described by Martin Scorsese as a masterpiece. In 1998, towards the end of his life, Marks published a personal history of his experiences during the war, '' Between Silk and Cyanide'', which was critical of the leadership of SOE.
