Marko Vejinović
Marko Vejinović (born 3 February 1990) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Eredivisie club Heracles Almelo. Having started his professional career with AZ, with whom he won the Dutch Championship, he went on to play for Heracles Almelo, Vitesse, Feyenoord, AZ, Arka Gdynia, ADO Den Haag and Tianjin Jinmen Tiger. Club career Early years Vejinović started playing football at the age of seven at a small Dutch club by the name of Zeeburgia. Ajax scouts immediately recognized his talent, where he consequently spent the next seven years playing for the youth team at Ajax. He continued his career later at FC Utrecht and then at AZ Alkmaar. Vejinović made his debut in the Eredivisie with AZ on 22 March 2009, in a 0–0 draw at home against Feyenoord. AZ won the league championship that season. The KNVB Beker (; en, KNVB Cup), branded as the TOTO KNVB Beker for sponsorship reasons, is a competition in the Netherlands organized by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) since 1898. It was based on the format of the English FA Cup. Outside the Netherlands, it is often referred to as the Dutch Cup. The 2016–17 Eredivisie season was the 61st season of the top-tier Dutch League Eredivisie since its establishment in 1956. The fixtures for this season were announced on 14 June 2016. Teams A total of 18 teams took part in the league: The best fifteen teams from the 2015–16 season, two promotion/relegation playoff winners and the 2015–16 Eerste Divisie champions. Sparta Rotterdam, the champion of the 2015–16 Eerste Divisie, returned to the Eredivisie after spending six seasons in the Eerste Divisie, whereas play-off winner Go Ahead Eagles returned to the Eredivisie after just one season.
