Markaryd Municipality
Markaryd Municipality (''Markaryds kommun'') is a municipality in south-west Kronoberg County in southern Sweden, where the town Markaryd is seat. In 1916 a part of the rural municipality of Markaryd was detached from it, forming a market town (''köping'') with the same name. The two entities were reunited in 1960. The present municipality was created in 1971, when ''Traryd'' and Markaryd were amalgamated. Geography The nature is mainly dominated by forests, as usually in Småland, but there are also significant agricultural areas. Stretching from the northern to the southern parts is the river Lagan, making up the foundation of the water system with opportunities for fishing, canoeing and camping. There are also specific areas created for walks in forest and wildlife nature, and just east of the town Markaryd is a possibility for moose safari, arranged by Smalandet. Kronoberg County (; sv, Kronobergs län) is a county or '' län'' in southern Sweden. Kronoberg is one of three counties in the province of Småland. It borders the counties of Skåne, Halland, Jönköping, Kalmar, and Blekinge. Its capital is the city of Växjö. Bytów
Bytów (; csb, Bëtowò; formerly german: Bütow ) is a town in the Gdańsk Pomerania region of northern Poland with 16,730 inhabitants as of December 2021. It is the capital of Bytów County in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The origins of Bytów can be traced back to the early Middle Ages when a fortified stronghold once stood near the town. In 1346 as ''Bütow'' it obtained Chełmno town rights from the Teutonic Order, which controlled it since 1329. During the Thirteen Years' War (1454–1466), the town was the site of heavy fighting and changed hands over time. Eventually, King Casimir IV Jagiellon granted the town to Eric II, Duke of Pomerania, as a perpetual fiefdom.
