Mark Williams (engineer)
Mark Richard Williams (born 7 April 1959) is a British engineer. He was known as the engineer for race cars development at McLaren from 1996 until 2015. Career Williams attended Imperial College London, where he studied mechanical engineering and graduated in 1980 with a master's degree. His first job in Formula One was as a composite engineer for the Ensign Racing. In 1982, he became a design engineer for engine components at the engineering technology firm Ricardo Consulting. In his spare time, he worked on freelancing race car design and engineering at Delta Cars, based near Hove. In 1983, he landed his first full-time job as a race car designer at Lola Cars, working on projects ranging from Formula Ford to IndyCar. Adrian Martin Newey, (born 26 December 1958) is a British Formula One engineer. He is currently the chief technical officer of the Red Bull Racing F1 team. The 2001 United States Grand Prix (formally the 2001 SAP United States Grand Prix) was a Formula One motor race held on September 30, 2001, at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana in the United States. The 73-lap race was the sixteenth and penultimate round of the 2001 Formula One season and was won by Mika Häkkinen. It was the first international sport/race event held in the United States after the September 11, 2001 attacks. Adding to the victory was the fact that the win also occurred two days after Häkkinen's 33rd birthday. It was Häkkinen's final victory and podium of his career. Ian Gordon Murray (born 18 June 1946 in Durban, Union of South Africa), is a South African-born British designer of Formula One racing cars and the McLaren F1 road car.
