Mark Waller (politician)
Mark Waller (born 1969) is a former Colorado county commissioner as well as a former legislator in the U.S. state of Colorado and county level assistant district attorney. Elected to the Colorado House of Representatives as a Republican in 2008, Waller represented House District 15, which encompasses portions of northeastern Colorado Springs, Colorado. Waller also served in the US Air Force from 1993 until 2000, joining the Air Force Reserves in 2001, and following his graduation from the University of Denver Law School, he worked as an attorney prosecuting insurgents during the Iraq War; he was deployed in 2006. Douglas Bruce
Douglas Edward Bruce (born August 26, 1949) is an American conservative activist, attorney, convicted felon, and former legislator who served as a member of the Colorado House of Representatives from 2008 to 2009. He is also known for being the author of Colorado's Taxpayer Bill of Rights (TABOR). A strict advocate for limited government, Bruce wrote and promoted TABOR, a spending limitation measure approved by Colorado voters in 1992. His name is so associated with the measure that attempts to bypass its restrictions are known as "de-Brucing." After two unsuccessful campaigns for the Colorado State Senate in 1996 and 2000, Bruce was elected to the El Paso County Commission in 2004. Cynthia Honssinger Coffman (born August 26, 1961) is an American attorney and politician from the state of Colorado. A Republican, she was the elected Attorney General of Colorado in 2014, serving a single term from 2015 to 2019. Coffman unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for governor of Colorado in 2018. Early life and career Coffman graduated from the University of Missouri and received her J.D. degree from the Georgia State University College of Law. 2015 Colorado Springs Mayoral Election
The 2015 Colorado Springs mayoral election took place on April 7 and May 19, 2015, to elect the mayor of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The election was held concurrently with various other local elections. The election was officially nonpartisan. Incumbent Mayor Steve Bach, in office since 2011, announced that he would not seek a second term in office. Since no candidate won a majority of the vote, a runoff was held on May 19 between Mary Lou Makepeace and John Suthers, the top two finishers in the April general election. John Suthers
John William Suthers (born October 18, 1951) is an American attorney and politician serving as the Mayor of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He previously served as the Attorney General of Colorado, U.S. Attorney for Colorado, Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Corrections, and Fourth Judicial District Attorney. He is a member of the Republican Party. Early life and education Suthers was born in Denver and adopted a month later by William and Marguerite Suthers of Colorado Springs.
