Mark Neeleman (curler)
Mark Jacobus Louis Neeleman (born 16 April 1959, in Baghdad, Iraq) is a sailor from the Netherlands. Since the Netherlands did boycott the Moscow Olympic Games Neeleman represented his National Olympic Committee at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Tallinn, USSR under the Dutch NOC flag. Neeleman took 8th place in the 1980 Summer Olympics, which was boycotted by several countries. In 1984 Summer Olympics, Los Angeles Neeleman did a second attempt in the Finn and finished on the 9th place. Neeleman missed the selection for the 1988 Olympics, Pusan. After that he switched to the Star. With crew member Jos Schrier at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona Neeleman took 4th place. Again in the Star and again with Jos Schrier, Neeleman took 6th place in the 2000 Summer Olympics, Sydney. His last Olympic appearance was in the 2004 Athens Olympics. Sailing (sport), Sailing/Yachting is an Olympic sport that has been part of the Olympic programme starting from the Games of the 1st Olympiad (Sailing at the 1896 Summer Olympics, 1896 Olympics in Athens, Greece). With the exception of 1904 Summer Olympics, 1904 and possibly the canceled 1916 Summer Olympics, sailing has always been included on the Olympic schedule. The Sailing program in 2004 consisted of eleven disciplines divided over nine sailing classes. For each discipline multiple races were scheduled between 14 and 28 August 2004 along the coast near Athens. Sailing At The 2000 Summer Olympics – Star
The Open Two Person Keelboat at the 2000 Summer Olympics was held from 23 to 30 September 2000 in Sydney in Australia. Points were awarded for placement in each race. Eleven races were scheduled and sailed. Each sailor had two discards. Results Notes Points are assigned based on the finishing position in each race (1 for first, 2 for second, etc.). The points are totalled from the top 10 results of the 11 races, with lower totals being better. If a sailor was disqualified or did not complete the race, 26 points are assigned for that race (as there were 25 sailors in this competition). Johannes Leo Jozef "Jos" Schrier (born 28 March 1960 in Hilversum) is a sailor from the Netherlands, who represented his country at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. With Mark Neeleman as helmsman, Schrier took the 4th place in the Star. In the 2000 Sydney Olympics, Schrier made his second Olympic appearance and performed with the Dutch Star Mark Neeleman.
