Mark Goodwin (footballer)
Mark Goodwin (born 23 February 1960) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Career He was a professional midfielder with Leicester City, Notts County and Walsall. He was given his Foxes début as a 17-year-old by Frank McLintock in a 1–0 defeat at Ipswich Town on 17 December 1977. Goodwin scored his first goal for Leicester City on 27 December 1977, away at Old Trafford in a 3–1 defeat to Manchester United He became a regular when Jock Wallace was the Leicester manager often playing at full-back. During the 1979-1980 season he was part of Leicester City side that won the Second Division title. He left Leicester City to join Notts County £60,000 from towards the climax of the 1980-1981 as County were promoted to the First Division. He made 237 appearances for the Magpies scoring 23 goals. Harworth Colliery F
Harworth is an area in the civil parish of Harworth Bircotes (with Bircotes) in the Bassetlaw District, Bassetlaw district in Nottinghamshire, England. It is approximately north of Worksop. The population of the civil parish was 7,948 in the 2011 Census. History The Harworth coal mine opened in 1921 and produced coal for the power stations on the River Trent. A new pit tower was built in 1989 when the pit was at its peak of production but seven years later the colliery was 'mothballed'. In 2015, it was announced that the pit tower would be demolished and the colliery site would be redeveloped for housing which has since been completed. The former freight line and sidings into the colliery have been lifted and left undeveloped. The local football team is called Harworth Colliery F.C. The National League (named Vanarama National League for sponsorship reasons) is an association football league in England consisting of three divisions, the National League, National League North, and National League South. Phil Hawker
Philip Nigel Hawker (born 7 December 1962) is an English former footballer who played as a defender. He scored 11 goals in 213 appearances in the Football League playing for Birmingham City, Walsall and West Bromwich Albion. Hawker was born in Solihull. He began his football career as an apprentice with Birmingham City where he turned professional in 1980. He deputised at left-back for Mark Dennis in the latter's absence, but was allowed to join Walsall in the 1982–83 season. Hawker spent eight seasons with the club, helping them to promotion to the Second Division in 1988. He scored in the play-off final against Bristol City heading home a corner from Mark Goodwin to make it 3-0 as Walsall won 4–0.
